ETH mentioned more than once on that Q&A I posted about the need for him to create a winning team from the start, a team that can win matches in the league starting with Brighton. He never stopped talking about the long term project but he was clear with this.

Makes sense that most of the line up from last season will be involved, especially considering the lack of new signings in the group yet. Despite being poor, this lot can win PL matches and have done so he will focus his coaching and pre season line ups with that in mind you’d think, whilst adding the new signings and/or a sprinkling of promising youngsters as the season goes on and when other competitions start.

There is no reason we can’t at least beat the sides we ‘should’ be beating with a similar team to last year but with much better coaching. It will take time but the fans that refuse to be patient are miserable all the time anyway, so they’ll be fine.
