His poor defending was highlighted last season?

May as well say his great defending was highlighted last season given he shut down Salah and many others.

Spangles is aligning himself more with Wolfie by the day. He's now even trying out his RAA act.

Wait til he plays his "all my STH friends that regularly attend matches agree with me" card.

Ait Nouri was outstanding against Liverpool last season, by far his best game for Wolves so far. That’s the standard he needs to aim for every game, but as we saw in many games last season and in the two games this season he is well short of playing to that level at the moment. But he’s young and it will hopefully come

Looks like another mediocre outfit that plays 4 at the back has identified Ait Nouri's poor defending and obvious weaknesses?

"The 21-year-old’s average rating of 6.96 from WhoScored saw him ranked as the best player in Wolves’ squad last season (of those to make at least 10 appearances), so he is clearly an important player in Lage’s system and it would be a big blow to lose him."

When all three are fit for me Semedo always plays and the choice between Jonny and Ait Nouri would depend on the opposition - Jonny better defensively, Ait Nouri better going forward.

We should not even think of letting Ait Nouri go (except, as we know, every player has their price - silly money for AN) - he’s got a massive career ahead of him, hopefully most of it with Wolves.

Is that the same whoscored site that ranks him as 9th best of our first team players so far this season?

Personally its a site that i don't think its a site that has reliable rankings. This season they put Sa as our best player so far but he's had some weak moments, and they put MGW as our 10th best so far this season which I would say is well below where I would put him

Yes.

Agree with you greengrocer it would be really sad if we let Ait Nouri go who surely has a great career ahead of him. We are lucky to have 3 full backs/wing backs of such quality. Wish we had that in all positions

I think some on here haven't cottoned on yet that we have switched to a back four this season.

Whilst I agree Ait-Nouri had some good games last season, he was playing as a wing back, which is by far, his best position. This season he is being used as a LB and has to concentrate more on his defending, which he's not very good at.

I think everyone has cottoned on to that Wolfie.

Have you cottoned on to what a LB is yet? You spent most of last season telling everyone that we played with LB and a LWB.

To some extent I agree but I would say defensively he is inconsistent and given to costly errors - something quite common in young defenders (e.g. going back a bit Joleon Lescott, Dean Richards who both turned out not too bad) rather than a consistently poor defender (he’s had a few good players in his pocket).

I’m an optimist so I’m going with AN will become a better, less error prone defender in the next couple of seasons.

Only time will tell but IMAO well worth the gamble - a bigger gamble to sell him (see Vitinha e.g.)

You're too young to know what a LB is Tammy. I don't suppose you've ever heard go the term Left Half or Inside Left.

I suppose in your world we have 4 central defenders. If someone is playing on the left as a wing back, what would you call it?

You could just say you still haven't figured it out.
