I don't really have the time to run the club entirely on my own, but would accept a part-time position for the right salary.

I can be your assistant on 75% of your salary (have to watch the taxman). I’m sure we could do a good job, let’s face it we cannot do any worse than the current incumbents.

It will take a little more time for the team to adjust to having four at the back. Let's face it, we've lost Coady and Saiss from a very competent back three last season. I think the full back positions are more than a little shaky to be honest. Jonny is not suited to his current role and Ait-Nouri's defensive frailties haven't changed from last season. Both are better as wing backs, so it was no surprise that Semedo came on at RB yesterday.

I think we now have plenty of cover in midfield with the arrival of Guedes, but I'm still not convinced about MGW. He must certainly be in Bruno's plans if he turns down the kind of offers we've had for him recently.

We are not going to progress more than a mid table side until we get a new CF and I'm not convinced Jimenez will ever be the player he was a couple of seasons ago. What baffles me is, we have 2 genuine CF's still on our books who could have filled the void until we have to name our 25 man squad. We have 2 weeks to offload them, or they'll only be available for U21 matches.

I don't think Hwang will ever be good enough to be a Premier League player, but Bruno must see something in training that we're not seeing.

I, too, am not sure about Hwang, but I think there's a chance he might be good enough to have in the squad, if we can sort out the striker role.

Bruno has said we will make 3 or 4 more signings this window and my hope would be that at least one and hopefully two will have the talent to score consistently. A bit like Fabio is doing for Anderlecht.

Defensively we are looking fine. I think Collins is a good signing and Kilman is outstanding. Between Boly, Toti and Mosquera we have decent cover. At full back we have a good choice of two from three in Semedo, Jonny and Ait Nouri. So I’m not concerned about our back 4 and not sure we need anyone else in the transfer market.

In midfield we have a choice of two from three. Neves is top drawer, Moutinho has been good but how long can he keep going, while Dendoncker to me is good cover but should never be first choice. So ideally we need another quality player in there.

If we are going to play 4231 then in the three man second line of attack we have Guedes, Neto, Podence and Hwang, and maybe Traore. Some good players there but unless we sign a centre forward that can get 35 goals then I don’t see enough goals from that bunch.

At centre forward we only have Raul and if he could only become the player of two years ago then the squad would look so much better but if last season is a guide we need better. We scored around 25 goals less than the European challenging teams last season so we have a lot to find to bridge that gap.

Nunes from Sporting and Ramos from Benfica and we’re in business

Unbelievable that just 12 months ago we had one of the best front lines in the division, now we need two additions to be back in business?

MGW?

Beat me to it Wulfrunnut with regard to MGW.

I think Dendonker deserves more credit than what he is getting. He may not be the quickest, but he does show up a lot in the box and has a lot of energy.

Yes I missed out MGW by accident not design

I like Dendoncker and would put him in the same category as I did Saiss when he was here. Great squad player, but if everyone was fit I wouldn’t make him first choice

I just hope the next couple of weeks see us be able to complete the signings that Lage wants and allow us to progress and start winning games. If they can get the squad where Lage wants it by the end of this window in order to set us up for the next two or three years I could maybe forgive sacrificing the points we've already dropped and will yet drop for the longer term good. If we continue to pvssyfoot around the market looking for goldilocks deals without compromise, the likelihood is we'll bumble on to the next window with no strength in the areas we need and vulnerable to injuries.

I think it’s quite a stark contrast between what could happen over the next couple of weeks. 3 or 4 signings as Bruno has indicated, which hopefully includes a quality centre forward, and we could be back to challenging for a European place.

Poor signings or no signings and it could be a season of real struggle

Bruno will be sold down the river again, I think he knows this already.

There is a reason Fosuns share price is down 40.3% over the last year.

I would be very surprised if we make 3 or 4 signings within the next 2 weeks.

Still cant resist having a dig at Saiss even though he was a major part of the defence for 6 years and over 200 appearances. Obviously, both managers in that era rated him as did I as one of our top players.

Saiss scored a spectacular OG yesterday playing for Besiktas.

Be amazed if we sign 3-4 more players that are first team ready.

Defensively we have looked better than i expected so far, Fulham barely had a sniff to be honest. Lets just hope Boly or Toti can step up in this set up if required.

Midfield is fairly clear, we all know we need a ball carrier that can progress play centrally
rather than just knocking 40 yards balls out wide.

And we have to address the farce up front, it has been how many years since we had a back up to Jimenez?

posted on 15/8/22

The way things are playing out we need a replacement for Jimenez, not a back up. Even when he's fit he's nowhere near the same player.

If we had a "first eleven ready" centre forward to replace Raul, we could take him out the firing line, take the pressure off him, and hopefully give him the time he needs to get back to full fitness and recover the confidence he has obviously lost.

Hard to know what to think about Jimenez except the main thing is he’s lucky to be alive, fit and healthy.

We should never forget he had a brain injury. Now at the risk of stating the obvious I’m no brain surgeon (though I have read a book on it - The Duelling Neurosurgeons - fascinating) but if his injury has effected his decision making processes in some small way clearly that’s going to have an effect. On top of that, the two players who assisted a lot of his goals - and vice versa - have long since gone. I’m talking about Jota and Doherty. Added to that, the other guy he got a lot of assists from - Traore - went, came back but isn’t getting much of a kick.

My hope is that once he’s fit to play he’ll be able to strike up something similar with (say) Neto, Guedes and Semedo - even Traore again.

All that said, we still need another striker either to take his place or at least cover for him.

I’m thinking Fosun are hoping they can get a loan or a cheap option until Fabio comes back next season ready to do the job. A risky strategy but typical Fosun these days.

Agree,I’ve been saying this for ages, think the club must know it as well, just need to get their ar*e into gear.

A centre forward and a centre midfielder are the top priorities. I wouldn't put it past Wolves to sign a few more wingers though. We love signing wide players.

Rumours of investment incoming from a Qatari based company

posted on 15/8/22

With regard to Raul’s injury and how it’s affected his game, to me he just doesn’t go in where it might hurt in crowded areas any more, so rarely gets into scoring positions. Latter part of last season he never even looked like scoring. After his injury who can blame him for being a little ‘safe’. But that’s no use to Wolves. Love to think he will come back this season more like the player he was. But there has to be doubts

Totally agree with that DJ.

Couple of separate posts on molmix. Could be nonsense but it is no secret we are looking for additional investment.
