Kent is either schite or a fraud utterly honking as a so called big asset has been for a good season or more his stats are woefully poor btw. Not a thing he offered tonight
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you watch the first half?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
i thought their right back had him in his back pocket to be honest.
was an odd game, PSV move the ball really well but they don't look dangerous.
wouldn't be shocked to see you get a result over there i'm honest.
yes, honestly, not a crafty ploy of misdirection.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They were talking about Kent on the radio and said how he almost flatters to deceive. Good on the ball, but not enough produced from it.

Kent didn't have one of his better games last night
harsh on kent.
He has been carrying a knock hence why he didnt feature at the weekend.
He was hardly up against a poor player, Teze is a very talented propsect, and is now a Dutch international.
Kent has been one of our most consistent performers in Europe. PSV did their homework and doubled up on Kent on top of him up against a very talented RB.
Kents numbers don't lie to be fair.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
depends on the numbers... He isnt often the guy directly assisting or scoring the goals but he is the guy who gets us into these positions especially in europe.
He stops opposition back lines pressing to high. He has been doubled up on in the last 5/6 games for us in europe anyone who watches the games will know this. Every opposition manager isnt doing this without reason and Gio is sticking him in the team even when he isnt 100% for no reason.
PSV didn't make the mistake other European teams made - they did their homework and took Rangers seriously. They looked more than decent and but for a shambles form their keeper could have been comfortable winners. Rangers defence is poor, especially Goldson who is looking like he regrets not going to League 1.
so to be clear, he does what all wingers are meant to do but with less goal contributions.
i think PSV will push further forward at home and rangers will get in behind.
Expect rangers to join us in the groups.
heard the young winger had Tav on strings going forward

This, Kent beat his man plenty last night but then had someone else on right away.
Doesn’t help him we don’t have a right winger.
aye can't expect a winger to beat players.
these are really poor excuses to be honest, wingers are doubled up on all the time.

Gakpo is a tremendous talent and yes he skinned Tav a few times.... again we are talking about a player linked with some of the biggest teams in the world for around 35m.
PSV are a very talented team, prob better than us player for player.

PSV are a team of giants, set pieces will be Rangers undoing IMO, from a Celtic POV if you drop into the EL and are playing after us on a Sunday that's great.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
your logic is sound tbf, however we saw on numerous occasions us beat teams (inlcuding Celtic) with very tough games days prior (going to extra time etc.) I wont be using the Thurs/Sun excuse if we dont perform well enough.
Sometimes you just gotta hold your hands up and realise your playing against a better team.
Hopefully Gio can come up with a game plan to over come this as he has done plenty of times

Can’t say this worries me, we played extra time on a Thursday, yet win against Celtic and in a cup final on a Sunday. Feel we’ll both need to win every game so pressure will be on regardless.
And seen the numbers from a financial side, Celtic get an extra 3m if we don’t qualify, we go from 17m to 11m. So really not that much of a difference
they zip the ball about quickly and find space a lot, i don't think they looked particularly dangerous though.
right jammy second goal but the first was really well worked.
both of PSV's goal should have been defended better, the skill of the guy to peg tav with his lay off for the first, classy...

i'm always in two minds about whether its good to play so many games in a short space or not.
i feel like on one hand it builds momentum and keeps players sharp, nobody running a marathon trains once a week surely?
on the other hand, the risk of injury increases...

disagree, he beat Tav a couple times, but the game I was watching I didnt see him getting ripped apart. Very rarely did they get in on Tav's side (twice I think in the whole game?) The had more joy down our left.

your train to run a marathon once though .... not every week.
There will be pro's and cons to both and assuming your background staff are good enough they will know how to recover for next games.
The sports science of the game is mental now.... they now have a huge influence on managers decisions.
Taking players out of training to recover, stating that certain sessions cannot follow others and set routines after games etc.
wonder how often mo farah trained, different level though i suppose, bursts, twists turns etc.

Usually towards the end of a programme for the marathon you wanna be getting in 1 long distance run per week. the furtherst you should running in the final weeks is about 20 mile usually do that. your rest day follows that long run.... every day you should be getting in some miles in the legs 3-5 miles per day
