It’s not gonna happen but just imagine these three late-in-window signings

Rice
Tielemans
Joao Felix
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Imagine we get Mbappe, FDJ and Kimmich. It’s as likely.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

There’s no way Kimmich would join us

Would be happy if the Sommer links are true, he'd oust DDG from the number 1 spot in no time imo.

£60m for a 30 y/o. wow!

That is everything that is wrong with your club right there!

Fans and people like Neville talk about building for the long term, hence why Conte was rejected, and yet you want to put together a 60 year old CM partnership.

You have a youngish progressive manager, give him some hungry dynamic young talent to develop as part of a rebuild of United, in stead of short term fixes

Casemiro would be good if we signed FDJ as well, agreed.

Or someone like FDJ.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would imagine if we're willing to spend 60 million on Casemiro, we won't sign FDJ too. He may not be a substitute for him in terms of how they play but he may well be in terms of fee/wages paid out.

Can’t say I know a lot about him in terms of style but he’s had a good career and is still young for a keeper.

The Telegraph linked us to Asmir Begovic today

The Athletic:

"Reports that he stands to double his salary are thought to be wide of the mark"

He is a World Class Defensive mid and would improve us monumentally.

Is Heaton any good? Is he worth a start?

The one I’m still really struggling to wrap my head around (despite the club’s longstanding interest in him) is Rabiot.

How on Earth would United line up with him and any given midfielder in the mould of FDJ unless a diamond was seriously on the cards? (In which case, why would you fork out ridiculous money on FDJ?)

Casemiro and FDJ would actually make some sense.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d imagine he was wanted as a squad player. But to answer the question it would probably be in a double pivot or three man midfield.

Yeah no way we’d get both. This is clearly a panic offer because the FdJ transfer is off.

We still need another cm even if we get Casimero to help with ball progression.

We’ve been linked with SMS. That would send a real message.

I could be remembering incorrectly but wasn’t Casemiro struggling in that Real run to the CL final and Real only started to play well when Camavinga came on for Casemiro?

At least he wouldn’t turn us down, because Begovics cannot be choosers.

To people who genuinely watch Real regularly, has he really declined? He’s just helped his side to a league and CL double and he only missed 2 games through injury.

last season was his poorest for Madrid I thought
passing was often erratic

The last time I saw Casemiro play was in the CL final and he was an absolute beast but he lost the ball so many times

Exactly what we need. McTominay, Fred and Bruno can’t keep hold of the ball to save their lives. We really need another player like that.

If CR7 ends up leaving, even with a payout the wages it’d free up would pay for FDJ alone.

And United have already freed up a small fortune with Pogba, Matic, Mata, Lingard and Cavani gone, plus the wage deductions for no CL football.

Maybe Madrid fans views of passing being 'erratic' is different to ours. They watch Modric and Kroos every week not Fred, McT and Bruno.

Shame we’re his last of 3 choices

Madrids midfield energy levels went up a notch when Camavinga came on, although that could've been for any one of the 3 starters. It's a testament to their quality that those 3 have held their own at the top of the game for so long when individually their legs have started to go.

posted on 18/8/22

How would the freed up wages pay for a player costing over £60m? Ronaldo doesn’t get paid over a million pounds a week.

I would wager you any money that if we sign Casemiro for that fee and wages, we will not sign FDJ or any other CM for big money. We may try to pick up one on the cheap but not for another big fee.

Too many other positions needing strengthened

Only the other day it was reported we’d be willing to sell Garner for £14m to help with transfer funds. We’re clearly not buying 2 £60m midfielders.

posted on 18/8/22

Not surprising some of you don’t know how professional and how good Casemiro still is. Big upgrade and still world class.
