People take TV shows so seriously. Didn't end great but went to bed and forgot about it, meh. The show got weaker as the amount of baps on display diminished as well.

Not a fan of prequels though, I don't really care how people got to where they were that much, where is the mystery when you know what happens in the end.

Is that lass who got all tough and dangerous, forget her name, isn't she getting a show as she was gonna head off to explore new lands. That sounds far more interesting than the blond bunch.

Last couple of seasons were really bad and the whole series was generally made worse as a result. Had been looking forward to a rewatch but had no desire to do that in the end.

Will give this show a go - trailers look good, it's an interesting world and different show runners

Season 8 of GOT was disappointing to say the least.
I will say though that the Battle of the Barstsards (Season 6, Episode 9) was absolutely brilliant, and one of the best things I’ve seen on TV.

Not heard much about the prequel, but hasn’t it been attacked as being woke? Or is that the new LOTR thing on Amazon Prime?

You might be thinking of the wheel of time on prime. As big fan of the books, I can tell you that there are quite a few deviations from the source material with a view of ticking the woke boxes.

The answer is all three. I’ve heard all are catering to the current, whatever state of the world we are in. Can see the new lotr and got flopping.

I have read the wheel of time (somehow! Was hard goin at times) and enjoyed the series for what it was but as mentioned it deviates so much from the book characters to tick boxes, was rushed and wasn’t half as good as could have been.

Season 8 of GoT would have been fine had it been spread into 2 seasons rather than crammed into one. It felt extremely rushed, almost as if HBO or the creators just wanted to get it over and done with. I even quite enjoyed season 7. I thought Cersei blowing up the citadel, church, whatever, was the best scene in the entire show

Same. Up to season 7 it was still better than most things.

Problem with GOT in the later seasons, aside from the obvious rushing of the plot to get it over with, was they stopped adhering to the rules that made the show so successful in the first place.

If a character did something stupid or was outplayed then they would suffer the consequences. If a character was in a situation where they should die, then they would regardless of being a main character.

Whereas Season 6 that went completely out the window and you had people surviving all sorts of stuff just because of who they were.

Pretty much this, which in and of itself would be fine, but then you have a legion of 'experts' (pronounce tw𝔞ts) who think their taste is God's ultimate gift to humankind and have to foist their opinions upon others.

That aside, Better Call Saul's a prequel, and up to season 5 I love it (not seen S6 yet).

Season 8 was a facking disgrace. Deanarys was slowly supposed to go crazy but she went from normal to destroying a city and burning thousands of innocent in the flip of a coin. And they made Brian king who had done fack all all 8 season other than crawling through mud.

Good thing about the prequel though is that all the source material for it is already complete, so they won't be in a situation where the show overtakes the books because Martin is a lazy
