I was a big fan of GoT in spite of the last couple of seasons. I’m looking forward to the new series, though not quite with the same excitednessment (yes, I’ve just invented a new word. You’re welcome!).
GOT and Star Wars became so awful I can't stomach watching anymore regardless of whether the spin offs are good or not

I have read the wheel of time (somehow! Was hard goin at times) and enjoyed the series for what it was but as mentioned it deviates so much from the book characters to tick boxes, was rushed and wasn’t half as good as could have been.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeh, I think that they have really missed the opportunity to make a fabulous series. It is too shiny and polished. Needed some GoT grit. Such a shame, as there are some great characters in the series.

People take TV shows so seriously. Didn't end great but went to bed and forgot about it, meh. The show got weaker as the amount of baps on display diminished as well.
Not a fan of prequels though, I don't really care how people got to where they were that much, where is the mystery when you know what happens in the end.
Is that lass who got all tough and dangerous, forget her name, isn't she getting a show as she was gonna head off to explore new lands. That sounds far more interesting than the blond bunch.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My thoughts exactly. Prequels just smell as an opportunity to make a quick buck. We already know the ending so i cant invest time in it with that in mind
The best spin off/prequel that worked is 'better call saul'. Pure genius. Not entirely a prequel though

This isn't a prequel in the traditional sense, it's set a good 150/200 years before GOT

No point in watching war movies, we all know we beat the Naaazi baastards!!
Just watched the first episode. Very very good. Wasn’t sure at first but with actors like the amazing Paddy Considine, Rhys Ifans and Matt Smith it feels more serious than GoT. The episode gets better as it goes on and by the end it very much feels part of the same universe.
I did, seems fine so far.

Anyone watch it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup great start, it shows a lot of promise. Definitely feels like GoT
Is it loosely based on King Stephen - Matildas battle to succeed Henry 1st in the Civil war of the 12th century?
Episode 2 is outstanding. Going in a very cool direction especially with the developing war story.
Just watched it, very good. The King definitely picked the right bride, I felt very uncomfortable when he met the suggested one! ‘It’s ok, you don’t have to sleep with her until she’s 14’ didn’t really put me at ease!
Wow, episode 3 is facking great. Paddy Considine has to be one of the best actors in the game. Really hope this finally shoots him into the starring roles he deserves

But the one he did marry and impregnate was 14 😟
This episode is even crazier in terms of what is proposed 😹😹
Tbf it is what happened in England back in the good old days 😅😅
Really enjoying this show although the plot armour at the end of episode 3 was kinda stupid
Yeah think the first 3 episodes have been really good. Understand the plot armour gripe but it was a mostly brilliantly shot action sequence
The latest episode was somewhat dull.
