“and more than double those seen in Q3 2021.”
So why is your fact more relevant than this fact?
Why are you choosing data from specific points when there is conflicting data, unless you’re trying to push a narrative?
Also, how can you explain data like this?
Are they lying?
“Average wholesale gas prices in Q3 were 115% higher than in the previous quarter, 18% higher than the previous record-breaking average gas prices of Q1 2022, and more than double those seen in Q3 2021.”
The price didn’t break the ATH until the end of August 2021 so obviously every quarter that followed it is going to be higher. And I’m not sure why you have to go as far back as August 21 to prove a point when Russian didn’t invade Ukraine until the end of Feb 2022, that’s 6 months after August 21, all the while in the time frame, prices repeatedly set new all time highs and traded at levels higher than where we are today, post war.

Do you not realise how you are contradicting yourself with this? 115% higher than Q2. What months do Q2 cover? What event took place before said months? Were said months more or less expensive than Q1 which took place before said event?

“The record gas prices were driven primarily by continuing conflict in Ukraine and the changes in the gas flows through Nord Stream 1.“
I’m not contradicting myself. I’m taking stats from credible sources and asking you to explain them.
The quote above is from the same report.
I assume these analysts are all wrong and it’s only you who can see the truth, right?
You seem to be doing what you were doing before and arguing against a claim that the war is the only reason for the crisis.
I never said that and have literally said the opposite.
You are contradicting yourself, you have stated that Q3 was 115% more expensive than prices between April-June AFTER the war, but only 18% more expensive than prices BEFORE the war. So if that war has had such an impact on prices, why was Q2 significantly cheaper than the ‘record breaking’ Q1? Why was it also cheaper than Q4 of 2021. That’s 6 consecutive months of trading before the war that is more expensive than Q2.
And whilst I agree that the fear of supply issues has contributed to prices rising in Q3, they have already plummeted by almost 75% since the end of August, and nothing has happened to ease fears on supply issues. In fact, things have only got worse with Nord Stream 1 & 2 both being bombed and now 0 gas is flowing from Russia into Europe 🤔
I haven’t stated that. I quoted it and asked you to explain it.
So I’ll ask again; are those analysts simply wrong?
Well you have stated it, by quoting someone else (who I don’t know).
If analysts are saying that fear of supply issues led to higher prices then I agree with them. The reality is there was nothing to be fearful of, which is why prices have dropped.
Quoting someone isn’t stating it as your own view, you’re wrong on that.
The report is from 5 days ago.
So they’re wrong, I assume?
If the article is 5 days old then it is clearly wrong as prices are now lower than they were before the war
So analysing the effect of the war is something that changes within five days?
Sorry, that’s laughable.
It is factually incorrect to say prices are are record highs when they are the lowest they have been in well over 6 months.
Russia invaded Ukraine on Feb 24th. The price of gas then was 285 PPT. The price of gas closed on Friday at 204 PPT, nearly 30% cheaper.

So they’re wrong.
Gotcha.
I think that’s where we’ll leave it as I’m sorry, but I’ll be taking my opinions from credible sources rather than JA606.
As I said, we’ll never agree and you’re so convinced you’re right that nothing I say will change that.
You’re wrong to claim that the facts are all on your side when I’ve posted numerous facts to prove my point… but sadly you’ll refute that, because they don’t suit your narrative.
I won’t bother reading anymore on this from you, so won’t revisit this page, but feel free to shout into the abyss if you must.
Have a nice afternoon.
I’m not giving opinions, I am posting facts ffs if you want to argue against the validity of the gas chart on which multi trillion pound gas contracts are priced on then that’s up to you
