I just watched the 12 minutes of highlights on YouTube. Interesting that the Pboro Manager said that we didn't create a chance of note throughout the game. Suggest he watches those highlights...

Great to hear, chaps.
Think the RD mics must have been placed in the wrong stand yesterday

Sounded much louder on the highlights

Yeah I thought the atmosphere was great. There were some small children in the row ahead of me who had their hands over their ears at times. I graciously went sotto voce for the "F" word in "Allez Allez" to respect their tender years. I don't think they had much idea what was going on but when the noise was in full flow late on they were looking around, mouths gaping in wonder. One of them gave me a little low five after McGoldrick scored so maybe seeds have been sown there for another generation of Derby fans.

Unfortunately the decibel levels don't always get through on Rams TV although it was clear that the crowd was playing its part which is great.

East Stand Row M over the halfway line was my old spot and it was usually pretty restrained there (sheer noise I mean, not enthusiasm) so it's good to know the ES is doing its bit and that it's not all South Stand.

I agree, Terry that the Ref was poor and I really expected him to red card Stearman later on just to "even things up". That would have been harsh in the extreme. Their manager's comments were stupid and probably given in the heat of the moment. They could easily have shipped three or four before the two that did go in.

How are things in Spain Terry and Heb, when are we going to get your crofting report? Can you include your comments on the Islands ferry situation and how it's impacting you and Mrs Heb? As if you did not have enough problems!

Hi Chicago. Things in Spain are hot - as you'd expect for August. The coast where we are tends to be a few degrees cooler than inland thank goodness. ATM due to brexit we can now only spend 90 days here in any 180 days....so next year were looking at a "non lucrative visa" which if approved will give us more time here. Interestingly, in the past I'd have said UK was cheaper to live than Spain, but me an Mrs H think that's changed to Spain being cheaper....and of course you dont have the heating costs of UK. Also Internet speeds are huge compared to UK. We can get 600mb for £21 per month which we reckon is excellent.Streaming is very good and we're able to watch the Rams too. All in all feels pretty good. ...How come you've settled in USA ??

Hi Chicago. Things in the Hebrides are currently mild, damp and infested by midges. But the huge rams fanbase here remain optimistic and are fortifying ourselves with natures' goodness. 🥃

Hi Terry - good to hear from you. I assumed it would be hot but was wondering if you were suffering from excessive heat right now, maybe with the odd wildfire thrown in, or even some flooding. I'm guessing none of those things or you would have mentioned them? Congratulations on getting away from heating costs. Not too bad here - yet. Of course right now it's the air conditioner on the go (upper 80s but feels like mid 90s).

Not heard of the "non lucrative visa". It sounds like a visa granted conditionally on not earning. I'm here on a green card as I don't particularly feel like becoming a US citizen at my age. I've renewed the card once already - fairly easy to do. I started on a fiance visa as I came to get married. That was far from easy (the visa I mean!) mainly because the forms required were lacking in explanatory notes and it was of course impossible to speak to a real person on the phone for help. The forms did make one thing absolutely clear - get anything wrong and start the whole process again! Good old google helped out in the end!

Thank the Lord for Rams TV. I'm so used to being able to watch every league game live that I feel dischuffed when I can't watch cup games. As for live "soccer" over here I went to watch Chicago Fire once. Vey nice compact stadium but right down on the south side. It took well over an hour to get there. Not a bad game but certainly not League One level. (Johnny Russell was not playing btw.) We also watched Loyola University Women play last week. Some of the gals were pretty good but nowhere near the Lionesses in ability.

I guess I'm here to stay. We have talked of coming back to UK but the thought of going through all the different types of paperwork, house buying, sorting out income tax - no thanks, not again!

I'm sure your "pretty good" summary of Spanish life is an understatement. Enjoy the rest of your 90 days, Mr and Mrs H with a very high number of Rams wins thrown in!

Sounds itchy Heb. I trust that by now the whole of Lewis is a bastion of rams fans, fortified or not. (Is there such a thing as an unfortified Hebridean?)
