‘We didn’t need to lockdown’

Exactly. The old and vulnerable should have been locked down and kept away from everybody else.

Is there some sort of Narnia world where the elderly and vulnerable can be tucked away and not catch it from the young folk?

I didn't see my grandparents during lockdown in order to not risk giving them it, yet I did see colleagues at work and younger family members because they obviously weren't going to die from the flu like illness

You do realise the old, ill and vulnerable were catching it from young, fit and healthy 20 year olds don't you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Exactly. The old and vulnerable should have been locked down and kept away from everybody else. Care homes is an exception obviously. As for nonsense, how many young people did you lot know that died of it? Wasn't it like 0.09% of the deaths young fit and healthy? Dr Bruyne had it and destroyed the Premier league a week after having it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And what about the countless "old and/or vulnerable" who live with healthy people. Are we making the healthy people homeless, or locking them down as well?

Old or disabled take far longer to get over the road when using Zebra Crossings.

Maybe everyone over 65 or people with mobility issues should be placed under permenant house arrest to stop them inconveniencing the young.

I know he is a good player but do we now call him Dr Bruyne?

He is surgical with his passing ….

Lockdowns were definitely needed but they initially ended way too early and then came back for way too long.

It was funny how the same people who wanted lockdowns were out in the streets screaming BLM in their thousands just because the sun was out though.

The BLM protests were after the first lockdown brought the numbers right down.

Or bring in the midsomer method and make everyone jump off a cliff when they hit 65

No pensions to worry about , nhs will be free of these pisstakers peeing and shatting themselves and there won’t be such huge queues at carverys as they fumble over the Brussels

Win win all round

They were during a period where you could only meet up with a certain amount of friends or family and had to socially distance (which obviously did not happen).

Interesting proposition but I doubt it'll get much traction amongst people who are about to hit 60.

I never did that so...

However, people who voted Tory going on to then clapping the NHS was a brilliant moment.

Brazenly repeating a proven lie is in vogue on the post-democratic right. Increasingly, core supporters are both entrenched and consuming information from post-truth media (which now, terrifyingly, spans a lot of mainstream outlets) so it's a viable strategy.

You can guarantee that most of the journalists and politicians riding the authoritarian train would have happily played by the rules of liberal democracy a decade ago. Goes to show that societal conditions and systems are more important than the characteristics of the individual agents.

Honestly didn't understand a word of this. Sounds intelligent though

Of all the scenes in that film, the one that still makes me wince a bit is them cutting their palms and then rubbing the blood on that sandstone.

Ouch. Worse than the hammer, for me.

Lockdowns were completely unnecessary. Just look at those silly kiwis down under! They took it to the extreme with their lockdown!

Bet they feel stupid now after returning to “normality” and recording under 1800 deaths total.

Especially Bojo and Rishi with their choreographed applause sessions smug in the knowledge they were going to block NHS pay rises.

Not keen on the idea myself and I very much doubt the dimwit that came up with it would be either.

The lockdowns aren’t the point. The point is that a shower of Tory see you next Tuesdays are trying to persuade you that they opposed them, even though they fecking didn’t. Spinnin Lizzie the most craven. She apparently was dead set against them but couldn’t say anything cause she was on the wrong committee. We are so fecked.

The Tory’s did oppose them for some time. If I remember correctly they went with the advice of going for herd immunity only to realise that was a big mistake and then went for lockdowns way too late.

It reminded me of that scene in V for Vendetta where Hugo weaving blurts out a load of crazy sound words with extreme pronunciation.
