Leicester away to Bournemouth, Forest home to Villa. Every chance we could be rock bottom by Monday.

Fully fit squad vs team at their lowest ebb with a myriad of injuries to important players, this can only go one way...Draw

In all seriousness, I expect that scoreline you predicted.

Depressing to see that list, but the reality is, we'll only miss Collins and Neves. Neto has been way off his best and it'll give others a chance to step up to the plate.

Not sure what the temporary coaching staff will set up for this one, but we still have Jonny, Kilman, Toti, Semedo, B. Traore, Nunes, Moutinho, Ait-Nouri, A. Traore, Podence and Guedes to choose from.

Maybe Toti will miss out from that lot.

But it'll surely be a weak bench, including Mosquera, Campbell, Ronan and Bueno.

and who will be captain? Kilman?

I think you should probably includeDiego Costa in that list or have you written him off already?

Forgot all about him tbh. So it's not all that bad then.

Multiple injuries to your team but if jorgino, havertz and mount start I will do my regular of betting on the opposition.

Upset on the cards inbetween two huge CL games.

Kilman is vice captain this season so you would expect him to take the armband.

Would be good if we could play with the Bruno-brake off on Saturday, we had a good go at them last season at the bridge however the comeback from 2 down was inspired by Chiquinho and finished off by Trincao and Coady. Wonder what we can do without them?

I think Kilman would be captain if Bruno was still here. May we’ll be anyway but who knows what out temps think.

I would presume Boubacar Traore will come into midfield. And after their cameos at the weekend Costa and Adama will surely start. I hope we see Toti or Mosquera in defence.

Sa
Semedo, Toti, Kilman, Ait Nouri
Nunes, Traore, Moutinho
Adama, Costa, Podence

We may revert to 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 for this one. Either way, we should be able to put out a decent side.

Everton plan to exercise an option to turn defender Conor Coady's loan move from Wolverhampton Wanderers into a permanent switch for a fee believed to be less than £10m - The Times

Tale of 2 England international centre backs, almost exactly the same age and experience:

Harry Maguire transferred to Manchester Utd. Leicester City pocketed more than £80m.

Conor Coady about to transfer to Everton. Wolves set to receive less than £10m.

Whatever you consider to be the relative merits of the 2 players, there can be no doubt which two clubs conducted the best business (EFC and LCFC), and which two did the worst (WWFC and MUFC).

Reading about the former Wolves striker Vio Ganea. After going back to Romania he retired in 2011 but then amazingly made a comeback in 2022 with a club in the Romanian 4th division. He is evidently still playing there at the age of 49

To be fair, although Man United vastly overpaid for him; Harry Maguire was 26 at the time of his transfer and therefore at the beginning of the usual peak years for a centre back. Really you can get 7 or 8 years at a top level from a CB at that age.

I don't think his transfer and Coady's transfer are in anyway comparable for that reason. At 29, Coady is past the time in his career where you can get maximum value; so was probably worth £20 million. £40 million would probably have been fair for Maguire given his age at the time of the transfer.

Bookies seem to fancy Man City to win at home to Copenhagen tonight. You can get odds of 1/20 for them to win

posted on 5/10/22

Talking of low odds, Lopetegui is now 1/5 to be the next Wolves manager with some bookies now refusing to take any more bets

posted on 5/10/22

Pretty odd how it is obvious he is getting the push at Sevilla but yet they want him in charge tonight?!?

posted on 5/10/22

They clearly won't want to sack him if they think there is another club out there that might want him and be willing to pay them compensation.

Yeah, it is an odd situation

If Sevilla sack Lopetegui they have a large compensation payment due to him, one they can’t really afford. However if he walks straight into another job then no compensation is due. So Wolves will be doing them a favour, and Seville evidently have an Argentine manager, Sampaoli, ready to step in
