Harts been at fault for 3 of our last 4 goals however he's crucial to the way we play
I don't think he'll drop him
Sorry 3 goals in the last 4 games
Comment from Ange
"We kept giving it back to Joe for no reason. For us to get over this hump of being a good side and having results is about having a really strong belief and mentality. It’s not easy to do. I could see it coming. If it wasn’t Joe making the mistake, it would have been somebody else.
“When you get into survival mode, the best you are going to do is survive. When you come away from home in a game like this, when you’ve fought so hard to claw your way back into it, you don’t want to survive. You want to sustain a positive mindset. That’s how you affect the opposition and make them uncomfortable.
“It’s just experience. Players are people. At some point they’ll switch into some kind of safety mode. But you can’t play safe at this level. If you play for survival then that’s all you are going to get. And to survive, you aren’t really getting anywhere. It’s something we’ll learn from.”
Ange can say what he wants about giving it back to him and Hart can say thats the way the manager wants us to play
it's a horrific unforced error, no excuses
Hes made an erse of it - Its a mistake and they happen
there was alot of positives last night - the game was very well matched and end to end upto a point
They have real quiality in good areas , Nkunku is class but i thought Sozbozslai (sp?) was superb
as was Simakan
its not a game i expected to take any points from, but that was nothing short of infuriating.
our defensive setup is naive bordering on moronic to be honest, i was worried about Welsh but we completely hung him out to dry.
full backs all over the place, CM's not chasing back to cover them, it was poor and if the manager can't see that then he's blind.
look at that third goal, look where taylor is while the left was totally unguarded.
Juranovic day dreaming for the first, if theres a cut back then hatates not keeping up with his man. CB's nowhere to be seen.
that brain fart from hart, wtf is he thinking there.
Glad your not the manager. That is a terrible idea to bench him.
He has been solid for us and we need to stand by him.
Modern day fans are so fickle.
‘look at that third goal, look where taylor is while the left was totally unguarded.’
To be fair to Taylor-that was Jota’s man to track back with. Jota was fvcked though and couldn’t get anywhere near him leaving Taylor having to come out to cover it. No way he was getting there in time.
It’s annoying that we keep conceding fairly preventable goals in most cases, and missing the number of chances we do though.
But the gap between us and some of the other teams seems to be getting bigger when you look at fitness levels, physicality and technique. We have a way of playing, and it’s not going to change much. Folk said before he arrived that it can be a bit of a rollercoaster with Ange as your manager-can’t say they’ve been wrong.
We can still aim for 2nd as much as that’s a bit of a reach, but 3rd should still be manageable.
We still look half a yard short of pace against good teams. Leipzig cruised through our defence with ease at times playing one:two’s as though they were in training. It shows that we still have a long way to go in order to get good results in Europe.
Taylor shouldnt be getting dragged over there - we have to retain some shape in that scenario
You cant expect your winger to be defending that crossfield pass - it doesnt happen if Taylor doesnt get sooked into the wrong area .
Taylor completely at fault for that goal imo , that said - what a first time pass across goal to Silva
Jenz isn’t good enough btw, countless times he just gave the ball away under no pressure at all
To have any chance of going through I think we need CCV and Starfelt back
I quite like Jenz , hes got a bit to learn still though but he can definetly play and use the ball
however Jenz alongside CCV is a different prospect to Jenz alongside Welsh
CCV is the brains at the back - the guys superb and when hes not there hes a big loss

The winger should be tracking back so Taylor doesn’t have to be dragged out to that position. That just completely stretches your back line.
If Jota had been able to spot the run and keep up with the guy, he probably would have been in a position to stop the volleyed cross, and Taylor would have been tucked inside to deal with anything coming across the front post. Jota was goosed by that point though and couldn’t get near him. It was his man.
It’s always the fine margins.
Doesn't much matter how we lose goals if the final result was pretty much as predicted. No mention of the ones Hart prevented going in.
Finally, good big ones are better than good little ones.

I thought our midfield was too easily passed through last night. Big gaps and easy to move ball past us. Agree with most on with how people are seeing it. Our fitness levels are not good enough to play this way. We either need to look at a style that can allow us to do this in stages and try and gain a bit of control in a match, or look to use subs a lot earlier. Too many players were gassed at the 60minute mark where top teams gradually take control and over run us!

He was slightly better in the 2nd half, but was posted missing a few times. He doesn’t inspire me with confidence-especially at this level.

=======
he's miles away though mate he's on the right side of the park, you have to expect at that level that there will be runners on the other side.
As CT says, there has to be some retention of shape.
The inverted full back thing is fine but it shouldn't mean you go wherever you want.

And with Jota letting the guy run by him, we lost our defensive shape. Taylor was where he should have been to start with-tucked inside closer to the centre halfs. We lost our shape because Taylor had to come so far out wide.
theres chances of finishing second, can't say i'm bothered about finishing second or third though. either would be good.
we need to win both the home games, if we do that and madrid beat those 2, then we are sound for second i think?
if red bull beat donetsk but lose to us and madrid then they are on 6 points.
if donetsk beat red bull but lose to us and madrid they will be on 7 but our head to head would be better.
i think thats right, i'm sure pov will tell me if i'm wrong.

tucked inside is a bit generous mate, the three of them were practically bunched together,
i agree jota should track back, but taylor should not be that far across, he has to cover that area.

Sounds correct.
I'm not sure finishing second will be best for our development or confidence. Can you imagine us playing like that against Man City and Haaland. A decent run in the EL might be better to prepare for the CL again?
Was about to say we’ve still the two home games against the teams we believe we should be closer to.
They both have to pick up points as well to progress, so should be decent games.

The move started on the far away touchline just about half way. I wouldn’t expect any of our defenders to be anywhere near the other side of the park at that point. That’s why Jota-or any other wide player-has to track back to keep the defensive shape.
The ball can always move quicker than a player-Taylor didn’t get the help he was due at that point.
I don’t blame Jota or Taylor-no one in the team is fit enough for this level and it’s tiredness that affects how alert you are, and makes our play sloppy.
