I know for a fact they were seen in Tesco in Alty 3 weeks ago yesterday. I actually said it 3 weeks ago on here.
From what I’m now told, the police are going after him anyway even though she doesn’t want it. It’s important to note that the police can do this, even if she doesn’t want them to.
He will be charged today with breaching bail, they have cctv from the gates of his house showing them driving in together on numerous occasions in the last 2 months. They live together.
He is going to be remanded to appear at Manchester Magistrates court on Monday.
Don’t believe me all you like, read this comment again in a few days and you’ll see

There is less than zero chance that he plays for the club again. Unless it turns out it wasn't him in the video and it was fake etc. That is literally the only scenario in which he plays for the club again.

Any United fan thinking he will play for them again is crazy
Since the start - my stance has been unless he is actually found innocent of the charges in court, I don't want him playing for United again. The case being dropped wouldn't be good enough - that just means there wasn't enough evidence to get a conviction, and while legally I suppose that makes him 'innocent', I still wouldn't want him in a United shirt.
If it goes to trial, and there's evidence of XYZ and it turns out that he is actually innocent, fine, he can come back (though I suspect we'd still sell him!).
I'm hesitant to call what we've seen in public enough evidence that he is guilty. The photos, while really bad, don't actually prove it was him that did it. Literally could have happened in a million different ways that don't involve abuse. My personal opinion is that he is likely guilty - but the photo isn't necessarily evidence of that (if that makes sense).
From what I remember though (I haven't listened to it since it came out!) the audio is significantly more damning towards him - which is predominantly why the only way back is to be found innocent, which would presumably have some explanation for the audio.
Any other result and he should never play for United again, and depending on what happens in a trial, either never play football again, or he should be jailed.

No top team will touch him and it won't be an ethical reason or respecting women, it will be about money. Top teams often have large global sponsors, and in this day and age they will not like the optics of Greenwood being associated with their brand. It doesnt matter if the case is dropped, the media content that was made public was vile.
The only way he can play is if he goes to a club lik3 Newcastle where the owners are the sponsor's and have a history of not respecting women's rights. Or a smaller club where the sponsor's aren't going ro kick up a fuss.

The club can terminate his contract whenever they like if they believe there’s just cause. Clubs have used the allegation of reputational damage (or bringing the club into disrepute) to sanction and even terminate players’ contracts for decades.
The very worst scenario I can see for the club in such a case is if Greenwood then sues and the lawyers or courts decide that United pay up the rest of his contract plus legal fees.
AFAIK, he’s contracted to summer 2025 and on about £75k p/w. So we’re probably talking tops £10m out of the coffers, worst case.
From a cold, hard financial point of view measure that against the potential reputational damage done by allowing him to pull on the jersey again, and it’s a no-brainer IMO.
I think the club has to allow the criminal and judicial process to play out first, of course. Then, one way or another, he’s gone.

They actually don't have to. But then they risk the embarrassment of having to pay damages if the player appeals and wins. Like what happened with the Derby player Richard Keogh. Usually a club will wait until the legal system has dealt with things first. I guess that there is also the fact that terminating his contract could impact on the legal case.

I saw yesterday that she's now following him on Instagram again.
If she takes him back and the case is dropped it'll be a tricky situation for United really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tricky? That would be the perfect situation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be silly. Of course it will be tricky.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've been through this countless times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have we.
I see no reason why this would be tricky, other than for those that had found him guilty long ago..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It'll be tricky because of the optics of United playing a suspected abuser. I know in law it's innocent until proven guilty but I think most of us have seen enough to know how distasteful it'd all be if he played for United again.
Don't get my wrong I'd have loved for this not to happen but the club has a wider responsibility to protect their reputation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All of this. Of course it's tricky. I mean he now being repeatedly arrested.
I've no love for Utd but I don't envy them in this situation. It's a £60m asset likely in the bin and aside of money Utd love a youth player coming through the ranks and that's before we go into Utd desperately needing a striker.
You've got a be a bit of a moron not to see this if we're honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of players have been arrested over the years. Its not a career killer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For seemingly abusing a woman, on camera, at a time when the women's game is being promoted? Not a good look.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn't any footage of him abusing anyone though, is there?

Personally, given his age, ability, value, time at the club, lack of charges, being back with the alleged victim, and some kind of explanation offered, he will be free to play again.

I’m not so sure he will be…

They actually don't have to. But then they risk the embarrassment of having to pay damages if the player appeals and wins. Like what happened with the Derby player Richard Keogh. Usually a club will wait until the legal system has dealt with things first. I guess that there is also the fact that terminating his contract could impact on the legal case.

No that’s before it was confirmed to me that he was arrested

😂😂
Why deny it if you didn't have confirmation? Surely you'd wait rather than look stupid?
Also, your insider information was already everywhere when you denied it 😂😂

Sorry, to be clear, I meant that *practically-speaking* in this case they have to let the legal process play out. Not that they’re legally obliged to

What sponsor will touch a club that greenwood plays for ?!
Money talks louder than anything these days
If he wants a football career he will be playing outside of Europe

Can’t stand that bloke
Anyone who has a brother can understand you would never ever go near their wife
Even if you don’t have one you should get it but having one gives you the understanding of just how low what he did is
Bloke is lower than low ….I’d be shocked if he actually had friends

I saw yesterday that she's now following him on Instagram again.
If she takes him back and the case is dropped it'll be a tricky situation for United really.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tricky? That would be the perfect situation
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't be silly. Of course it will be tricky.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We've been through this countless times.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Have we.
I see no reason why this would be tricky, other than for those that had found him guilty long ago..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It'll be tricky because of the optics of United playing a suspected abuser. I know in law it's innocent until proven guilty but I think most of us have seen enough to know how distasteful it'd all be if he played for United again.
Don't get my wrong I'd have loved for this not to happen but the club has a wider responsibility to protect their reputation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
All of this. Of course it's tricky. I mean he now being repeatedly arrested.
I've no love for Utd but I don't envy them in this situation. It's a £60m asset likely in the bin and aside of money Utd love a youth player coming through the ranks and that's before we go into Utd desperately needing a striker.
You've got a be a bit of a moron not to see this if we're honest.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Lots of players have been arrested over the years. Its not a career killer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For seemingly abusing a woman, on camera, at a time when the women's game is being promoted? Not a good look.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn't any footage of him abusing anyone though, is there?

Never heard any audio like that though before have we? And it might not kill his career, but I doubt he will play at United again
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're free to your opinion.
Personally, given his age, ability, value, time at the club, lack of charges, being back with the alleged victim, and some kind of explanation offered, he will be free to play again.
