Uh what? Why would you credit someone for potentially costing you a victory

When referring to the City game 100% yea
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, it's a lazy comparison because of some similar physical features. That's all. Nunez has already achieved insanely more than Sanogo ever could have I'm afraid.
What next? Thiago comparisons with Denilson?
You've left the realm of reality in your quest to substantiate Sanogo comparisons, which was stupid.

So what was his impact on the game? Can't give him credit for how we tore City apart after he came on but can blame him for almost costing us 3 points?
Stop digging bro.
I never said that Nunez is as bad a player as Sanogo though Past achievements are meaningless. I said if you were to judge Nunez on that cameo against City then you wouldn’t say he is any better than Sanogo. Whereas the OP has written an article saying how great he is. That’s what I don’t get.
And I think it is completely fair to say this article would not have been written if City had scored a late equaliser
Oh you misinterpreted what I was saying. I wasn’t portraying his impact on the game to be a positive one at all

=====
That's even more stupid Batmanu
It's why most people with brains don't judge a player based on a 20 minute cameo. Even Messi and Ronaldo can look like Sanogo sometimes when you do that.
It's so pointless that why even bother with this at all? Just to denigrate a rival teams player by comparing him with a poor footballer that failed for your club. Sad to see.
This is what I mean when it comes to the siege mentality Liverpool fans have with Nunez.
I haven’t made any judgment on his ability on this thread at all. Only on his performance against City. I even said on this thread that he could one day be worth his price tag. I don’t see what the problem is

What siege mentality are you facking on about now? You're making arguments. I'm making arguments. Simple as that. Rival fans always bring up this "Liverpool fans" angle the moment they look like they're losing the debate or have nothing meaningful to contribute. That's how you know it's over most times.
You did make a judgment that he looked like Sanogo in his 20 minute cameo, which I'm highlighting the stupidity of. He didn't even really look like Sanogo. It's a stretch to say he did to begin with There's no problem apart from you starting to cry about Liverpool fans.
Well I said it in my very first comment so not something I said because I was ‘losing a debate’
I mean I get it, Nunez is getting ridiculed by everyone so naturally Liverpool fans are going to have to defend him no matter what. Against City I saw a completely brainless oaf doing his best to cost you a hard earned victory whereas you saw a guy who tore City apart so there’s really nothing else that can be said.

That's doesn't mean you didn't say it this time because you've lost the debate
Nunez isn't our first signing to be widely ridiculed, and won't be the last. All fans defend their players, especially when new, so acting like it's a Liverpool fan thing is also stupid and not thought through, like your Sanogo comparison.
Many fans would be positive about Nunez from what we've seen so far if he played for their clubs but not many have the wherewithal to think critically like that. Many would rather compare him to one of the worst strikers their club has ever had, but if it makes you feel good then crack on.
We were ridiculed for Mane, Salah a Chelsea flop, even VVD who didn't come with a profile people expect to see for most top defenders coming through Celtic and Southampton. People never learn.
Your comparison on Nunez with Sanogo will look great in a few years time. It will be a good example of your fantabulous football knowledge.
I’m not making it out to be a Liverpool fan thing. In this case it is because it’s a Liverpool player being ridiculed. It happened with Arsenal fans with Pepe before (not me though, knew from day one he was trash).
My Nunez/Sanogo comparison won’t mean shiiit in years to come because I’ve made the analysis based on arguably the worst CF cameo in years. I don’t know how many times I have to say that it is based on his performance vs City and not his actual ability as a footballer. But whatever makes you feel better, I don’t really care tbh

Seems you're the type that like to make wild outlandish statements, probably as an attention seeking mechanism.

No I just call it as I see it. I mean ‘worst cameo in years’ is a bit sensationalist but I genuinely can’t think of any worse off the top of my head. As much as I’m enjoying your reactions, thats not what I was looking for

You don't say
He made a couple of bad decisions on the ball when he should have passed but what he actually did was show movement and pace, providing an outlet and tying up two or three players at a time.
The lad makes things happen and has a strike rate of 3 goals in 5 games minutes wise so to compare him to Sanogo who scored one goal in the first six years of his career is as laughable as it is lazy.
Yeah, there's cameos where the player hardly touches the ball, is anonymous and coasts to the final whistle.
Nunez was present and did everything right until the last pass or shot.
This flop now has the same amount of goals as great players like Jesus, Son, Gashford and more goals than Sterling etc in significantly less minutes on the pitch.
Can't believe we signed him.
