Just out of interest how are we going to manage all the people being born here in the next year?

I mean things sound really desperate on the numbers front.

Id incentivise the French to stop them from crossing, and send those we cant accomodate, to Rwanda.

The Rwandan scheme is a red herring to placate Tory party supporters. It was used in Israel, and scraped as was a complete failure.

Throwing millions of pounds (noting your comments on the cost of living crisis) towards a scheme destined to fail, is particularly smart is it?

Rwanda can srill happen.

And incentivising the French would be be far cheaper than the current cost.

Fvck that.

Why has France 3x less net immigration than UK? Why is nobody over there complaining they are living in squalid border camps rather than being put up in a hotel?

BTW, someone dismissed 1% earlier - our net immigration is 0.25-0.3% or c. 5-7% over a generation. That's a huge increase in public spending before other effects and that is assuming the incoming migrants work and pay an average tax take which is highly unlikely even if asylum seekers are a minority. Then there's housing shortage.

We need solutions. Pearcy - that doesn't necessarily mean rejoining your beloved EU. Could be a bold manifesto by Liberal or Labour but would probably mean yet another Con gov?

Only a few posts ago you were claiming asking the French for help wouldn't nt happen. And throwing "£bns" at it during "a housing shortage, growing number of homeless and a cost of living crisis" was a nonsense.

Yet now you advocate throwing wads of money at the French (which was already attempted) as a solution.

Strange...

Normally such agreements between countries such are ratified by way of a binding treaty. Parliament however is required to scrutinise treaty agreements. So public money is being well spent etc etc. The Rwandan scheme was purposely constructed as a MOU (memorandum of understanding) to avoid parliamentary scrutiny.

If the scheme had any merit the government would have undertaken and published impact/viability assessments. It would have been put to Parliament for scrutiny including committee.

The fact it was not (irrespective of its legal viability) should tell you all you need to know about it. Suggest also reading the BBC article on the Israeli Rwandan scheme.

My suggestion is cheaper than the current system, and far more beneficial to the French.

Virtually all European countries have been experiencing declining birth rates for years.

2.1 births per couple is the lowest possible growth rate. When Germany hit 1.4 in 2013 Merkel realised that she needed immigrants. And fast. She took a million. Yes, there were, and are, many problems bedding that down, but realistically had no choice if the Fatherland was to remain an economic powerhouse.

France took in twice as many asylum seekers than the UK did last year.

Solutions will *have* to be with agreement with those on the other side of the border. Namely France. However as the UK no longer can rely on EU law to return asylum seekers, it's made the situation considerably more difficult. No matter how unpalatable that may be for the Brexiters.

Stop bombing the crap out of countries for no reason other than to test your bombs would surely be far more beneficial to all
But that's not the US way!

What I can't get my head around is why people would risk their lives leaving the nirvana(according to many on here)being the EU to live in the shiiithole which is here (same people).

Can anyone please explain thos to me?

We've got total control of our borders now.

The problem is that the Government doesn't know what to do when people cross them.

Count how many European countries use English as their native language (don’t worry, you’ll only need the fingers on one hand) and that’ll give you one clue.

I can explain it to you. Basically what you’ve done is come up with an entirely invented narrative and inserted words no one has ever said to fit said narrative. Hence leading to your confusion. Hope that helps champ 🤙
