Looked pretty blatant to me.

I think though that for VAR to intervene, this would feel like re-reffing a game rather than correcting mistakes.

I thought that was what VAR was supposed to do, come to the correct decision.

They are always getting involved with hairline decisions, but something as clear cut as today, they chose not to get involved with. Very strange.

Spot on Winston. Seen them given. But no way was VAR going to overturn the ref’s call, he had a pretty good angle. Alexander Arnold was lucky with a few decisions that went his way today.

I thought VAR was brought in to come to the correct decision. Now if they thought the ref had got it wrong, why would they not overturn it. They are supposed to be there to get decisions right. The ref got it wrong, they had every right to say to the ref it was a clear penalty, you got it wrong, but they chose not to. So what is the fecking point of VAR?

Why would it have been soft? He clearly pushed Sessignon in the box, causing him to go to ground. It could not have been more clear cut.

Yep good point, very similar circumstances actually. At least Trent used a bit of shoulder with his nudge today. Last season Royal just blatantly bundled into the back of Jota.
