I suggest the OP read "On Liberty" by J.S. Mill to get an understanding of what motivates people to criticise the Qatari regime, and for why people of such an ethical leaning feel justified in restricting the liberty of some to protect the liberty of others.

Before I could find any guys to bum, I would tie my pet rabbit to my ex girlfriend's face so that it looked like a beard and then bum her. All bums feel the same whether it's a guy or girl. The issue is when you want to get bummed yourself. Luckily we had a pet snake as well so managed to use that and tie it around her waist but had to make sure she kept her head up whilst bumming me or the snake would try and eat the rabbit each time its head came back out of my bum.

Now if those are disgusting practices then call me disgusting but to us in the west, that's just normal.

The thread is about stopping the criticism of Qatar. That isn't going to happen. But I don't expect that anyone on this thread intends to do to Qatar, start telling everyone to change their ways and then start frantically bumming anyone that moves.

There are so many examples of contemporary right-wing populism suppressing / controlling speech in the name of protecting freedom of speech.

- UK government attempting to police university lecturers and teachers in case of left-wing bias
- UK government stuffing the BBC board / oversight functions with partisan Tories.
- UK government repeatedly putting forward the rabidly anti-liberal Paul Dacre to lead OFCOM, which regulates the media.
- UK government enacting laws that drastically restrict the right to legally protest, with the subjectively defined potential to cause a nuisance sufficient to justify arrest. This week journalists filming a protest were arrested and detained, despite showing their press credentials.
- Removing books that promote tolerance from educational syllabus and libraries in the USA - and actual book burning.

These are instances of mainstream right-wing politics in power exercising real-world curbs on freedom of speech. What are the counter examples from the liberal-left?

- Hate speech laws. If you feel that the public space should be a free for all to discriminate against and urge arm to certain groups, please feel free to defend that argument.
- The 'cancellation' narrative. Generally we have a very polarised and nasty online culture, and I'm not a fan of herd pile-ons. But let's be honest that every part of the political spectrum engages in the nastiness, bullying, calls for sacking, etc. And everyone is guilty of selective outrage when one of their allies has been attacked, while ignoring it when someone they disagree with is. Moreover, I've seen lots of examples of people being justifiably critiqued, and then using the 'cancellation' narrative to deflect from the original. Sometimes these martyrs do extensive rounds in national print and TV media talking about their cancellation.

The government have their own agenda. The media and companies however, try to appease the left, because of they don't the lefty mob will come after them. They are a vocal minority that like to complain a lot. There are evil things going on both on the far right and left.

My religion does not support this lifestyle, however I have integrated myself well into this country and respect each individual and how they wish to live their life. I don't go around here either telling people being gay is wrong.

Part of being an adult is accepting that not everyone agrees with your views, but typical of this board, the imbeciles will start creating agendas of what I am getting at here.
