the better player at 19 years of age, Jude Bellingham or Dele Alli?

Tbf I think Sandy has just found out Liverpool are favourites to sign him.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
Never fails to amuse do'es he?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sure does. Gerrard would be a better comparison for Bellingham in regards to skill set.

Dele Alli was never fantastic for England.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what makes Bellingham so fantastic, 1 goal in 21 England appearances?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hadn't Dele about 2 England appearances by the time he was 20?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
19/20 very little difference.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You specifically specified 19

Well in that case Dele was better.
Kind of begs the question, 'Then why ask?'
I was thinking the other day that Dele and Bellingham have very similar attributes and if Dele had stayed focussed he could have developed in to that all round midfield that Bellingham is.
In slight defence of Dele he was pushed wide left for Spurs and this was the beginning of the end for him. No.10s do not really have a role in the modern PL game but Dele had the athleticism to be a real box to box midfielder with a great output in the attacking third. He started in this role at MK.
Seems to me he just got a bit carried away with himself, his love of nutmegs and general showboating and failed to really develop in that central role.
its a completely moot point really because theres no need to compare them at the same age
alli was great now hes washed up hes even getting ripped by his new manager at besiktas so that isnt working out
bellingham is brilliant and being linked with all of europes top clubs
regardless of whether or not alli was better at the same age [i dont think he was] theres absolutely no reason to think that will have any bearing on how bellinghams career pans out
You sound a bit Jellingham.
Bellingham.. Although Alli was also great at his age and a better goalscorer. Bellingham a better all rounder.
Bellingham is a better all round player. Dele may have scored goals but he never ran a game like Dele did.
Bellingham by a country mile
Imo Bellingham, could turn into an upper tier level player in the next 2 seasons or so with the right coaching and attitude, suppose the depends on where he ends up but the teams that are meant to be looking at him that shouldn't be a problem
Bellingham is well overhyped but he is/was better than Ali. Alis goals covered his many deficiencies.
Bellingham the better more talented player and more grounded but Dele had the higher ceiling based on being more of a goalscorer/assister and there always being more value in goal scorers. Dele just didn't have the right application which is why his career has fallen off a cliff.
Bellingham. I've never seen him play.
Oranges and apples! One is a imo 'Gerrard type' midfielder and the other was more of a number 8/10. Dele had more goals but you wouldn't see him winning the ball deep and driving with it. Well I never did!
Bellendham, better than Shoulderham

I see a lot are going for Bellingham. But I haven`t seen him do that much outstanding at the World Cup, a couple of passes here and there don`t make him better than Dele at present.
Far too early to judge him properly. Let`s see if he does anything against France, then perhaps he can be elevated up a bit.
Dele was fantastic for both Spurs in the Prem and in Europe and England for two or three seasons. Supporters have very short memories.

Isn't that exactly what your article is asking people to do - judge who was better at 19, JB or Dele?

A text book Sandy article 🤣
I’ll play along though. Ali was great, should have gone on to the very top but he turned out to be a bit of a nob. Bellingham is great and will go to the very top (probably) because he’s clearly got a far better head on his shoulders. He comes across as a very down to earth chap.

Now that's a proper superstar in the making. Ramos of Portugal, hat-trick in his first International.

Yeah...that's really something when you displace a player like Ronaldo.
What happens to Bellingham (Vis-a-vis Delli Alli) depends upon his character.
I've always thought Alli got a big head as a result of the early adulation, and it affected his attitude to the game. (e.g., players like Kane are always on the practice field trying to improve. Alli not so much).
