I will add I want Brazil to win it as they were always my fav growing up but wouldn't be mocking or wumming if they beat England,I just enjoy football

Again, fair enough. Brazil or Morocco would be my choice if England were not out - then Holland or Croatia.

All the talk of how we need Walker's pace to combat Mbappe but even if that does happen and Walker pockets him, surely Deschamps will think - hang on, why don't I just switch the wingers and put Mbappe up against that left back....

Mbappe is a wonderful player, it creates an interesting problem for Southgate because the obvious thing to do is for the DMs to double up and help out whichever full back is facing him. But in doing so, we could concede a player from the key midfield battle.

I don't watch Juve enough to have an earned view of Rabiot but when Utd were looking at him over the summer, the majority of football journalists seemed to suggest he's good on the ball but ill-disciplined and perhaps even lazy without it. Personally I'd back Rice, Henderson and Bellingham to do well against Tchou, Rabiot and Griezemann. Take out Rice or Henderson to help with Mbappe and it's a trickier ask. I think we may find Southgate asking the front 3 to play deeper than expected to compensate and at the very least, occupy Tchou.

Personally I'd have it at 60:40 France. We're more than capable of winning if the players deliver to their potential.

I dont think many are arguing over Rabiots ability, think most of us are in agreement about him.

One person seems to think he isnt first choice for france (played 22 of the last 26 games or something)
one person thinks he is a bit par tplayer for Juve and was the same at PSG despite no other player at either club playing more games than him in cm during his time there.

Rabiot is good, he is excellent on the ball, has great vision and can help a midfield dominate possession. he can be found wanting off the ball and prob doesnt use his body as effective as he could.

One of the biggest problems when dealing with France is that you cannot play high up the field.

Simply cant Mbappe has too much to afford him space in behind.

the otherside of that is you cannot defend too deep. cos thats when Giroud can shine. he lives on teams defending their box.

France can be got at they are nowhere near as effective going back as they are going forward but in attack they are very balanced
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hilarious that we are worried about giroud. A 36 year old who wasn't good enough for a top team in the PL.
He will bully stones and Maguire though, because they're both sh!t.

who said you should be worried?

I said they have a balanced attack. on that can exploit a high line and also a deeper one.

I havent seen anyone saying you are or should be worried.

I just think they have a very good mixture up top making it harder to prepare for them.

However I dont think many can be too confident that a partnership of Stones and Maguire is gonna keep them out.

I will add however that England also have good balance up top assuming Kane doesnt get crocked

then it should be a cracking game.

IMO this game is just as likely to finish 3-0 to either team or 3-3.

I cant call it at all i dont think any score line would really shock me.

Huh.
You put emphasis on not being able to play deep because of giroud.. that to me says we should be worried about giroud. If you didn't mean that, then fine.

All I said was it is hilarious that we are even thinking about how to defend against giroud when he's nearing 40, and wasn't a top striker in his prime anyway.

To be fair, you dont need to be a decent striker to get the better of those two at the back of our defence anyway.

As long as Giroud has good movement, Maguire's nowhere to be seen.
Stones has barely played football all season, and I never rated him anyway. He's gone down the pecking order at city for a reason, same as Maguire, they're both sheet.

I didnt say anything about any team being worried.

I said France have a balanced attack. they can hurt teams that defend high and they hurt teams that defend their box.

If your a team that create chances then Giroud is a great striker, however he is only as good as the team you put round him.

He is Frances all time greatest goalscorer he is at very least a very accomplished striker

Giroud is no mug, he can, and will score if given the chance, wouldn't have played if Benzema was fit obvs but wouldn't rule him out though

Then I agree with whodunnit; it could be anything.

England look a very balanced side imo but I fear GS will revert to 3 CBs, drop a forward and we'll be pinned back.

Match them up and I think it could be a classic match. As much as we're worried about Mbappe, France will be worried about our pace up front and the finishing power of Kane. When he's on his game Kane can score from almost anywhere in the final third.

Finally admitting Belgium weren’t a decent team.

A very open but tough game for both teams. England has good chances to go through imo.

wee tip mate, if you ever want to silence Strike..... just ask him to back up his claims. provide some proof.

pure silence after you do that.

just ask him who has played the most games in CM for france over the last two years.

Ask him who was the most used CM player for PSG and Juve over the last 4 years.......

turns him into a mute !
