Modric is an absolute class player

One of the best centre midfielders ever

Makes everything look effortless and easy ….just his timing and pace of every pass is perfect

Modric is still surprising quick around the pitch I've noticed

And Modric stepped up to take a pen. Maybe Neymar was going to but it was probably with being the winning penalty in mind.

Class act Modric. Top pro

If you offer me these two players to build a team around , I'm taking Luka Modric each and every time.

Yeah, I do rate Neymar but I'd be surprised if anyone who understands the game would choose otherwise. Modric goes down as one of the all time greats, in the league just below the Messis and Ronaldos

Glad brazil are out
Get Cas and Anthony back
Now for England, Argentina,France and Netherlands to be knocked out as well

Morocco for the win
Dont give a toss about the wc

United should have bid 150 million for modric 15 years ago, not even exaggerating

Not even Ronaldo was worth that 15 years ago mate

Modric is class but I do think Neymar isn't as respected as he should be either.

He's just equalled Pele's record for Brazil and scored loads of club goals. I do think it's his histrionics that go against him when people discuss the best players.

Exactly. See Kane in the Euro final. Captain, lead by example, no hiding, first up, bosh, no messing. That’s what the best pro’s do.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Neymar gets more and more overrated the more I see him. A couple of years from now and he'll be at Welbeck's level.

Bit like richarlison. Belongs in the championship yet has conned his way into the PL and main man at Brazil.

There seems to be a bit of a generational divide regarding Neymar; younger fans seem to love him while older fans are a bit more skeptical.

I go on Reddit quite a bit and the prevailing opinion on r/Soccer seems to be that Neymar is the third best player of this generation (behind the obvious two) but I don’t think people who are, say, 30+ would agree with that.

Personally, I’ve seen him have too many games where he’s either anonymous, or moves keep breaking down when they get to him because he’s trying to do too much.

I’ve also seen him be brilliant, of course, but he has too many “meh” games for me.

I'm disappointed Croatia went through. I know everybody has to declare a win for the underdog as deserved.

But let's be honest, they had 1 shot on target today and it took a lucky deflection to go in. They were equally dreadful to watch against Japan and will be so again in the semis.

So well done to them on getting the penalty shootout win they set out for from minute one but from the perspective of wanting to see entertaining football, now one of the semis is a write off

Agree that Neymar was poor apart from his goal btw

Modric is a better footballer than Neymar has ever been or ever will be. He just doesn’t have the Brazilian hype machine or a stupid haircut, loads of tattoos and silly dances behind him.

Ok, maybe the stupid haircut.

To be fair he does have a stupid haircut. It is fecking awful

Antony seemed to have some stability problems, needs his ears checked as he seemed to be falling over a lot. Diving tewat.

Neymar is a player capable of great moments but he isn't a great player. A lot like Pogba actually.
