Don't have a huge problem with that one, Mings has clear control of the ball before Rodri tackles him

Think what Spurtle is debating here is the careless use of the word “Outplay”
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The word he used.
Do they put something in the water in north London?

Well I didn't want to put words in Ali's fingers but he seemed to suggest they outplayed City with more chances and therefore were unlucky despite not being able to put the ball in the net until the lucky decision.
It was only given as a goal because it was United.

What happens on fantasy football for that then... I have mitrovic
----------------------------------------------------------------------
idk but him and andreas are on my bench and I have two newcastle defenders playing so good for me. I'd imagine it goes down as a missed penalty
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably despite the fact that he scored
the goal correctly stood
it was lucky for us because Ajanki's laziness stopped it being offside
it he had made any attempt at the ball, and Rashford was therefore deemed to be blocking his path - it would have been given offside

That's the luckiest a team has been since United yesterday.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We just play to the rules
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And how were united lucky? City were crap. Could've been an easy 3 or 4-1 to united.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't think you can call it luck if a team outplays another but fails to score.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
'outplays'
What? Are we saying city's constant passing between defence and midfield and us letting them have it is the definition of outplayed?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't matter how you outplay a team, if you're not putting the ball in the net that's either down to poor finishing or good defending.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wtf
Did city have a chance other than the goal? No.
United had plenty
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So what? The idea is to put the ball in the back of the net. You only did it after a favourable refereeing decision.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't a favourable decision ffs. The rule was correctly applied. We saw Salah score from a similar interpretation just last week. If the offside player doesn't touch the ball and don't make contact with the defender, they won't be given offside.
It's only controversial because it's United. Let's be honest about this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's controversial because Rashford was in an offside position clearly influencing the City backline. Imagine trying to set an offside trap and being successful with it, only for it to not matter anyway.
