I wouldn't say we were lucky as such, but if we played like this i think we'd be lucky in the same way I think Liverpool have been kinda lucky- if you win games by one goal and don't push to put teams away then you're only one bad bounce or decision away from dropping points.

We weren't good enough today. I guess any boxing day game is a potential banana skin and we got lucky it was Ipswich we played today.

Tbf I don't think most Liverpool fans thought they'd be in this position going into the new year let alone Salah. I bet he thought his title chances were done with Klopp going and Pep staying. Football can be a funny game.

I suspect they will find a compromise with him eventually. Without him they'd a far more ordinary team. Think he's pushing 75% of all goals now that he's either created or scored. Very much the definition of a one man match towards a title.

Difference is that Salah has so much more to his game and isn’t reliant on service from his teammates.

To be fair Liverpool have been great but I don't think anyone would have predicted Citys drop this season? And Arsenal haven't been up to their usual level but that's nothing to do with Liverpool

I think most Liverpool fans on here thought wed be in contention.
This team not long ago was champions of England Europe and the World at the same time. Klopp left Arne a brilliant squad and when you saw what Slot did in Holland it is no surprise we are where we are

He absolutely influences the defenders, it happens all the time and rarely gets given, refs only seem to care if an offside player gets in the way of a keepers vision/movement it seems
