They are governed by FFP. They cannot do a Chelsea or Man City. That boat has sailed. They will have no more to offer than Spurs. And can also not spend more due to the rules

Maybe Kane goes there in the summer and beats Shearers record?

At least you don't have to worry about Everton but they might compete with the best looking stadium award with you.

And also someone called Alexander Isaak.

Make no mistake Wood is a stop gap.

Can see them going big up front again in the summer.

Sven Botman would have been brilliant for us. Did not cost the earth. Messed up again there.

Dan Burn too. Brilliant signing. Miles better than all our CB’s bar Romero

They will have to make up a massive sponsorship deal first to boost their revenues

Dan Burn have a lie down Don

Lets just get who Conte wants. If we got Burn in he'd get the "club signing" Spence treatment from the manager.

Honestly, you're wetting the bed again Don, this time about NUFC who we have outspent !!

Yet they can afford to play him at LB

I like the way Newcastle are buying.

Incrementally adding to their squad, no massive spurge overhaul. Quietly doing their homework and snapping up good players that Howe is making into a very good team.

You do get the feeling if they get Champions League football they might change that and go and 2/3 big names in.

He is.

Took a look back at Mansour first 3 seasons to see if they signed equivalents at the time? Some obvious squad fillers but sh.t they went full tilt signing starters with very few failures it has to be said

Eddie Howe was the shrewdest investment they made. They've not really bought anyone we couldn't buy. At the moment they're in the same bracket as us but what he's done to existing players like Almiron and in particular, Joelinton is just staggering. To shift him to midfield was a stroke of genius. Pound for pound they're still punching above their weight but if they get in the CL, forget it. They'll stay there because it will instantly open up their spending power with absolutely no regard for profit whatsoever.

Are Spurs not doing the same - Bentancur, Kulu, Romero, Richarlison, Perisic, Bissouma. Stop gap signing in Lenglet & Forster, ones for the future in Sarr, Udogie, Spence & Gil.

We need to buy some more no doubt, but really the only truly poor signing since Paratici has come in has been Emerson, and he has pictures of Conte with his wig off so is now undroppable.

We continue this with players like Porro, Bastoni and a couple others then we'll be in as strong a position as anyone chasing City.

He wasnt fancied by Spurs fans having taken Bournemouth down, to replace Poch or Jose.

The progress they have made without paying crazy money for anyone (apart from Isaak who has barely contributed) is pretty crazy.

Give the money Newcastle spent to any other clubs in the bottom 6 or 7 and it’s pretty much nailed on none of them will be in the top 4 1 year later.

They seem a very well run club so agree once they get CL there won’t be any looking back for them.

You could argue it yeah.

I do think Spurs will need to spend a lot over the next few seasons to keep pace with the top clubs in the race for CL football.

I don't rate Spurs defence, nor central midfield and the attackers have peaked.

I'm glad they won last night as getting to the semi gives them at least 2 extra games to play.

With no European footie and out of the FA Cup they would have had a clear run at the top 4 if they'd lost.

Not sure why you’re laughing mate. He’s better than Sanchez and Dier who play regularly in our defence. Can play CB or LB. There’s a reason why Newcastle have one of the best defences. Dan Burn is better than anything we have at CB bar Romero

Howe Bournemouth team was very naive in defence which got them relegated. He went to Spain and spent a bit of time with Simeone and basically copied his defensive and wasting time tactics.
