Huge game tonight

I'd start with the strongest team, try and get the points on the board. If Casemiro gets a yellow we'll just have to deal with it on Sunday.

Would have taken a point v City before kick off, can’t believe the city players basically ignored Haaland, anyway it benefitted us so no complaints
Palace are on a poor run and our confidence is sky high so I’m more confident than I normally would be for tonight, 3 points tonight and I’ll start believing top 4 this season could happen

I'd probably not play Casemiro tonight. Think we'll need him to beat Arsenal whereas I think we could get away with Fred in there tonight.

My team tonight would be:

DDG

AWB
Varane
Martinez
Shaw (we'll be on the front foot hopefully so will need him for his attacking)

Fred
Eriksen

Antony
Bruno
Rashford (only if fully fit)

Weghorst (think this would be a good game for him to start)

I've got a horrible feeling about this game being another Villa.

Top 4 is in the bag, all of the teams below you are too inconsistent this season.

I guarantee you Casemiro and Fred are getting booked tonight

Depends what the fitness of Rashford and Martial are like. Wouldn’t be opposed to Antony and Garnacho getting a start. Big decision to make over Fred and Casemiro as both will be really important for the Arsenal game. But they should be able to play 90 mins without getting booked, just depends on whether the manager wants to risk it plus having them fresh for the weekend would be a boost. It’s annoying that Arsenal’s game with Everton wasn’t rearranged for this week like our Palace game was.

Isn’t there something where once you’ve reached the 19 game point 5 yellows won’t mean a suspension or is that all competitions?

posted on 18/1/23

I’d consider resting Varane and Casemiro.

I’d have also rested Rashford, but it sounds like Martial has another knock or niggle, so we are short of options (unless ETH makes a couple of surprise inclusions)

I expect a tough game tonight.

While our away form is ok, all of our wins on the road have been by a single goal with either a late winner or hanging on for dear life at the end.

It would foolish to rest both. We've 2 games next week where we can rest players.

Yeah you get a suspension if you receive 5 yellows in the first 19 games in the prem.

Palace being terrible at the moment and having lost their last three home games should hopefully makes things a bit easier for us.

I doubt e will find out, but Martinez would be a solid replacement 8n the line up for Martinez, and Fred for Casemiro against Palace.

Ah feck, is he on a yellow?

Yeah I'd probably not play him in that case tbh.

Teams always raise it for United at home.

Palace have looked good when I have seen them this season, very dangerous attack on the break.

Not really. It’s more the case that we just haven’t been very good for a number of years.

But we should be winning this game comfortably because Palace are awful at the moment. Keep a clean sheet and we should be fine.

Obviously football doesn’t always work like this, but if this team has ambitions of chasing down Arsenal then they need to be sweeping aside shiiiiiit like Palace comfortably like Arsenal do.

They’ve got one of the worst attacks in the league.

We don’t score enough to be confident of a comfortable win, in my opinion.

Both results are of equal importance. We need to worry about tonight first.
