In other words you don't want brown people owning your club?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh, we are all racists. Nothing to do with conscience or morals or not wanting to be able to just buy success without generating our own money.

Go away you absolute plum and let the adults debate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you talking about you you muppet. If these guys bought us and just make us Debt free, we will go into any transfer market and financially will be able to outmuscle most teams on this planet based solely on the business activities of Manchester United.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, they would be able to do that. But is that what they will do? Lets have a look at the two PL clubs that have been owned by oil billionaires. Is that what they have done? Use your brain you angry little man.

You talk about the lack of respect on these boards, yet all you do is insult people on here. You have no self-awareness at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maybe you should use your brain. Those two clubs needed massive cash injection, this is not the case at Manchester United. Looking at what is happening at city, I can tell you for free these are not stupid people seeing as they are billionaires and they will not be proceeding to repeating this City Farce. They are buying a club wherein all they need to do is clear our debt, build a 2 billion stadium and the rest our great club, as stated previously, can easily challenge any club in this world when it comes to transfers.

Being a Manchester United fan I would obviously not choose to have these people as our owners. But it isn’t my choice.

But that will not stop me supporting United. I wouldn’t even consider it.

To quote Melton on another thread, I don’t have to agree with how they live their lives. I will just live with it.

The fact that my own country has been built on bloodshed and slaughter also stops me from being self righteous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
VC, we have our issues but I can only say Bravo here.

The same Glazers who funded George Bush? The same George bush who annihilated half of the Middle East? The same Middle East which is still suffering the repercussions of endless wars?

The cherry on top is ruining the club you apparently love.

This is why it’s best for people not to try and take the moral high ground when it comes to buying football clubs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree that a lot of owners are questionable. The difference here though is that the Glazers aren't directly responsible for what their country does are they?

I would say donating to almost every piece of schit in Washington on both sides of the political divide, makes them complicit in a lot of heinous acts.

I think people need to remember that Manchester United is no longer a local club. Its stature is supplemented and sustained by fans around the globe.

These fans all have differing moral values, I’m better placed to say that most supporters in the east would prefer Qatari ownership.

Everybody's hands are dirty, better to just hope for what’s best for the football club.

Seeing as a consortium are coming together, please may i ask you how do you know each and everyone of these folks is involved in the decision making of how the country goes about things on a day to day basis? How do you know every Qatar Billionaire happens to also be involved in government? I am guessing because our media says so

“Everybody's hands are dirty” is such a value free statement.

I was being kind.

What the Glazers have been complicit in is far worse than what the Qataris have been complicit in.

If you want a definitive statement…

If you’re referring to the members of the Thani dynasty, then [deeeeep breath]

No. Just no.

Offering your wealth willingly to despicable characters and paying taxes instead of going to jail are two entirely different things.

The point is, how United supporters over here feel doesn’t make a blind but of difference to how OTHER United supporters over there feel.

The only thing worth debating is who is better for the football club.

I don't. I'm only what's going on what's being reported. I'd be absolutely delighted if any new owners had no such links to, or records of, human rights abuses etc. It is much more likely though that owners from an authoritarian regime (head of) would have such links IMO.

As I thought. What is being reported by western media.

By all means you can be for this or against it, makes no difference to me. Ultimately however, give Chelsea fans Roman again as an owner they will welcome him with open arms. Newcastle fans were dancing and singing after their takeover. This same regime our government and royal family good friends with them. They own most of the tall buildings in the London skyline. Wake up!!

Is this below not true?

"Tamim rules an authoritarian regime in Qatar,[25] as he holds all executive and legislative authority, political parties are forbidden, and elections are not free and fair.[26] The citizens of Qatar have limited political and civil rights.[26] There is no freedom of the press in Qatar.[27] In February 2013, Jan Keulen (Director of the Doha Centre for Media Freedom) stated in an interview that the state implemented policies for escalating freedom and quality of information being broadcast.[28] In 2016, Tamim's regime blocked Doha News after it had done critical reporting"

"Political analysts expected Tamim to be more conservative and risk-averse than his father.[69] Because Tamim is very close to the Muslim Brotherhood,[179] preserving a national identity grounded in Islamic traditional values has been Tamim's first priority"

I've nothing against a Muslim (or any other religion for that matter) buying United. What is a bit distasteful though is the stance of the Muslim Brotherhood on women. If I'm wrong about anything above though please educate me.
