United are a top 5 name in world football along with Liverpool, Real, Barca and Bayern - they will always be worth more.
Chelsea have a playing squad worth much more and crucially are located in West London rather than North London - the ground the bridge is built on is worth more. Your brand is worth more because you have won more than 1 League cup in 23 years - Levy never quite got the hang of this business lesson, people will pay more for success.
The bid is actually 3.75bn because the new owners will be taking on the £750m Stadium debt which is on very low interest over the next 26 years - covered by the non football events alone. Joe Lewis is apparently holding out for 4.5bn - think we will go for around 4ish.

Yes it’s not an actual mortgage it’s a corporate debt instrument at less than 2%
It's a really hard club to value tbf. One of those ones that between the 2-3 billion mark is a steal, 3 billion or more & it feels like a gamble. There's a very small margin where the bid would benefit both the buyer & seller.
Striketeam covered it pretty well but what I'd add to that is the squad for the wages it's on is very good value, and the brand has incredible potential to sky rocket if you get it right. The club has two historical rivals with strong brands, opposed to Man City who had one.

West Ham could have been worth a lot of money except you don’t own your ground - and whilst that remains the case you are not an attractive takeover target as the only tangible asset you have is the playing staff and the currently sit 5th from bottom.
If Levy sells his stake in Spurs he would have enough to buy West Ham and in my opinion would improve you as a club considerably off the pitch and could make a lot of money himself 10-15 years down the line

More luck than judgement - Levy didn’t fix the cost of the building materials for our stadium which increased the build cost considerably throughout the project. Levy also held loads of money in dollars rather than pounds and was dipping into that at a time when the dollar was sinking - he makes quite a few business errors.

Also worth noting the guy heading the consortium for this takeover is on the NBA’s league association and has an interest in the Suns - he knows sports ownership inside out and how to maximise it in terms of revenue - this is why Levy has been holding off on stadium naming rights, it makes us so much more attractive for takeover targets in the US market with the NFL games.
With 30% of the money coming from Abu Dhabi - they are just buying a football club, they also get exposure to the NFL and If they let this guy Jahm head the consortium, also the NBA - huge opportunity.
Add in the London property potential Spurs offer by owning al the land around the stadium and you can see why Lewis wants more

So that’s not including ‘joke European competitions’

Arsenal I assure you are not and PSG are not yet.
The fact you have removed Liverpool is just laughable - they win European trophies and gain huge exposure for doing so - Arsenal only ever excel domestically and lot of that was in the past
-------------------------------------------------------
Sucks for them that European football wasn't a thing until the 50's, cos the Chapman era was where those European trophies would've come from.
Would've probably cleaned up as well, the W-M was so far ahead of it's time in this country let alone across Europe.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
True but they failed on the European stage whilst being invincible in England. For all their domestic success they have been really poor in Europe - with the same amount of titles as West Ham and the same Amount of European cup final appearances as Spurs.

Comparing Liverpool to Arsenal is hilarious.
They got sold for a paltry 300m GBP as recently as 2011.
We are, and always will be, bigger than LFC. European competitions are a joke and a commercial failure - they don't give you any exposure.

So a quick Google reveals Liverpool have 19 league titles
Arsenal have 13
So that’s not including ‘joke European competitions’
Liverpool are a bigger name in football than arsenal
I don’t like either club so no bias here but you thinking arsenal are bigger than Liverpool is absurd
I think you must be the only person in the world who thinks that
Unless you meant bigger pitch ? Your pitch is bigger supposedly so you can have that over them
