Dundee United sporting director Tony Asghar has left the club after more than four years at Tannadice.

The board and chief executive Luigi Capuano will now lead the process of hiring Liam Fox's successor as manager.

I imagine Ivan will be pleased. The guy took responsibility for nothing

To be fair he moved to Aberdeen with his Argentinian girlfriend but still goes to watch occasionally.

Just watched the game. Meh, pretty poor quality, frantic scramble. Walsh did well. Starfelt and CCV solid bar some mistakes in the cauldron of pash. McGregor too. That triangle of solidity created the foundation for everything else. Sure we shaded it but not by as much as I was led to believe from the comments. Hey ho, result all that matters.

Two minor observations.

First, saw Hart shuffle round one place at the huddle and dawned on me that they set out in formation in the huddle! Never noticed before. Superstition or mentality in gear from the off?

Second, Callum Beattie was handing out the medals - SPFL company secretary and not CEO Doncaster - seemed unusual?

Snap. Watched the whole game yesterday for the first time and that’s exactly how I saw it, in the cold light of day. Edged it and deserving winners, but the quality wasn’t great at all, in all honesty. Pretty typical OF fare really … 100 mph, mistake ridden carnage. All about the result in Cup Finals though, altho I think there’s way more to come from our squad, which is shaping up very nicely.

That abomination of a pitch at Hampden is never conducive to decent free flowing football.

It’s either poor or downright fwcking shocking. Cuts up every time

Just AJ bossing Kent ( seems they did meet ) then throwing Barrasic to then deck then playing a through ball for Haska

He's been a great addition , very dependable since coming in

Didn't appreciate it enough at the time but watching the replay he was excellent, Colak sh*t* himself when AJ stood upto him.

I thought we played well for the majority of the game, Johnston, 2 centre halves, McGregor, Hatate, Mooy and Kyogo all played well as did all the subs apart from Abada when they came on

the only thing that let us down was the barrel load of chances we missed, disappointed we didn't skud them

Tough one, Ghod, because a handful of the great chances came at the end when they had to take more risks. Just thought it was a pretty regular derby game where, as usual, the better midfield swung the game which tbh was most people's prediction before the game?

Surprised (not) that their goal didn't seem to be VAR checked for the huge push on Mooy that gains fatty the space to receive the ball. All the replays conveniently cut that bit out.

Some buzz doubling up at the turnstile on Sunday btw

First time in about 10 years I've not had a ticket in the ballot and it seemed so many missed out but no chance I was missing it. One of the best in a long time man the Celtic end was fervent to say the least

posted on 1/3/23

we controlled the game without being particularly dangerous for most of it.

Rangers had a spell, their goal was clumsy but gave them a chance to get back in the game.

wish haksabanovic had scored, that was a sublime wee bit of skill.

Maeda tho - wtf man. on the attack he was bogging, but his defenisive workrate was outstanding.

The atmosphere looked amazing

I can normally get a ticket if I reach out to a few I know and I don't ask often , but they couldn't manage Sunday either .
Quite enjoyed being in the house watching it and having veers with it . ..the beer goes down way too easily in these games

Aye mate My brother had a ticket so I at least had someone to do it with. Loads of guys trying it on Sunday, seen a few got caught but all about picking the right moment and the right queue/turnstile/steward. Ticket cordons didn't help but I had my semi ticket turned over and pretended I was on my phone so got past that bit and then went for it First time I've done it tbf but I was desperate haha. Was dead against doing it but lay awake all sat night thinking about it and just decided to give it a bash

Well done. Saw quite a few getting turned away when we were on the queue.

There was a group of about 5/6 kids offering £20 to anybody that would sneak them in. Not seen that at Hampden for years.

My turnstile section was rigid. Had a steward at each turnstile about a metre out and only one person got past them at a time.

I was in F3 so was in the turnstiles just at you hit the edge of the North Stand

posted on 1/3/23

Aye there looked to be no chance in the East but it was North we were in. Stood and watched all the queues for about half an hour to work it out haha. Defos a bit of luck involved as there was a steward other side of turnstile but he had turned to the left to talk to someone right as we approached. Fck ye, right in

On a complete tangent, that’s an incredible result for Thistle considering the amount of possession they had…

(In case it gets corrected, it’s got Dundee with 91% and Thistle with 9%!)
