Elvis, we get it you want concrete evidence.
Moving on, what are your thoughts on Bruno's antics? Do you believe a Manchester United captain performance should be impacted by the personality of another player?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was really disappointed with him yesterday. As a general rule, he works very hard for the team off the ball. But he gave up yesterday and it looked to me like he was asking to be subbed. If that is the case, then it is absolutely criminal and he should have the captaincy taken from him.
And no, his performance shouldn't be impacted by another's personality. Not in an ideal world. But we have to deal with reality. And whether we like it or not, Bruno's United form suffered from playing alongside Ronaldo. And the team as a whole played worse with Ronaldo in the team.
At this point, I would probably make Cas captain.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I've read that he wasn't asking to come off and that he was asking for some tactical instruction. That could be BS but, like you say, he usually works very hard for the team so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hopefully that is the truth of it. Got to say, he tends to work very hard and does plenty of running. His fitness level are through the roof! I think we have to give him the benefit of the doubt based on that. I have to say though, he does do a lot of arm waving and moaning - the very things that Ronaldo did to him. Sometimes I wish he would just shut up and crack on. Take a leaf out of Cas' book. Nothing really seems to fluster him and if something doesn't go his way he just rolls up his sleeves and keeps going.

Fair answer.
I don't want to dance the Ronaldo dance but very hard to play in any team with Maguire and Lindlelof as your number one defenders. This season has shown us this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep, and there are a lot of factors that have seen the team improve since Ronaldo left. I do feel that him leaving lifted a cloud over the club and that we are better in an attacking sense, but there is also improvement from the players getting to know ETH's tactics, better defenders, Cas settling the midfield, Rashford being physically and mentally fit etc.

I'd like to see some players give him something back from time to time too. We're still manic at times aren't we? I think we've missed Eriksen. Not necessarily in the midfield two but as a proper deputy/competition for Bruno in that AM/No10 role. Eriksen is a bit calmer so would have helped immensely I think in some recent games.

Can’t remember who it was but someone here was claiming that Luke Shaw was mentionable in the same breath as Dennis Irwin as Mr Consistent. I couldn’t believe what I was reading but he really isn’t all that consistent by any means.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty sure it was RDD. I don't think many (if anyone) agreed that he was world class.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn’t world class it was Mr Consistent, ‘the new Dennis Irwin’ he was called and it wasn’t RDD
---------------------------------------------------------------------
So like "World class" it was another isolated opinion on Shaw that doesn't hold any merit
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't remember saying that it was anything more than one person's opinion? Whether or not it holds merit is subjective. For that person (SE85) it certainly does hold merit, he's entitled to his opinion but consistent is certainly not a word I would use with Shaw nor would I mention him in the same discussion with Dennis Irwin who (as mentioned previously) is probably only bested by Ashley Cole as the best ever Premier League LB.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
You didn't say it
I never said you did
The point is World Class and Mr Consistency are not widespread opinions that have been written about Shaw on the forum as the OP would lead you to believe.
World Class is attributed to RDD
Nobody seems to remember who labked him Mr Consistency or as good as Irwin
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s in the post you just replied to mate. I didn’t make my initial post for any other purpose than the meaning of the words contained in the post. I wasn’t trying to prove or disprove whether x, y or z had been posted by multiple users. Just that someone called him the new Irwin which I found surprising to say the least.

I would say most if not all UTD fans would share your surprise at that assertion

Nothing really seems to fluster him and if something doesn't go his way he just rolls up his sleeves and keeps going.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd like to see some players give him something back from time to time too. We're still manic at times aren't we? I think we've missed Eriksen. Not necessarily in the midfield two but as a proper deputy/competition for Bruno in that AM/No10 role. Eriksen is a bit calmer so would have helped immensely I think in some recent games.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes he has been a miss for sure. Hopefully he can get back and play a part in the run-in. Bruno could certainly do with someone to share the load.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we miss Martial as well. Or at least what Martial can offer us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I had read that he was supposed to be available this weekend. Obviously not the case. ETH doesn't seem to be putting any timeframe on his return. I have been one of his biggest supporters, but he has to go this summer.

While I agree with your comments about Shaw and Bruno. The last line ruins it.
It said 'I was right' and you were wrong '.
Are you ever wrong Scholey?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was wrrong about LVG. I was wrong about Martial. I was partially wrong about Ronaldo. Are you happy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Partially?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course partially. Do I still think it was a disgrace a man lost his kid and fighting more than some of these chumps against Arsenal last year yes. Are we better right now without him, the evidence points to this and I am not daft to argue against facts.
You on the other hand, you made a post to show United results with Bruno without Ronaldo whilst you were shouting he has turned a corner, only to write an article yesterday saying he is a liability.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Those stats were a little tongue in cheek but they showed the negative effect Ronaldo had on the team.
My post yesterday was slightly reactionary I'll admit but it can't be denied Bruno has often let us down in big moments.

He’s improved a lot, not world class though.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
I would say most if not all UTD fans would share your surprise at that assertion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it can’t be all as SE85 was the person making the assertion but I get your point and agree wholeheartedly
