Bend it Like Beckham is the best football based film ever made. But the bar isn't very high.

I love a good argument about genres (and since you ask, Die Hard is *not* a Christmas movie) and it seems obvious to me that Raging Bull is not a sports movie. It's a character-driven drama, in which the protagonist happens to be a boxer. The sports movie genre requires that the sporting journey is the primary driver of the narrative arc.

Anyway, a couple of hockey films for your list:

- Guilty pleasure: Mighty Ducks
- Unashamedly love (but apparently can't type the title because of our sensitive friends in north London): G00n
