I think calling it possession was a bit generous. We were first to the second ball and out ran them but to no effect.
One of our punches landed for all our swinging, think you need at least to create two or three clear cut chances when on top to guarantee a goal.
Felt like Posh just played us from the ropes 1st half and then switched to the centre of the ring and blew us away.
Good perspective from Cat though. Warne doesn't have the personnel to play his way 100 per cent of the time. This team knows how to play Rosenior ball, I feel like we need a hybrid of the two styles. Come out fast with the hoof and rush, crash bang Warne stuff, then keep ball or if we can't get a foot in the game keep ball.
Same pattern second half. It allows us to play high intensity in patches and gives us recovery time for a small squad, until Warne can his runners in in the summer.
Big issue for me is how the hell do we play when Collins comes on, cos we just don't find him when he stays between CB's. He's proven at this level, n whatever we're trying when he comes on isn't working. No clue how we make space for him though, is Cybluski out on loan? Wondering if a hoof target man for him to feed off might help. Him and McGoldrick don't seem to connect.
Little more craft needed methinks or maybe hopes.
Good first half in that we were winning every ball in midfield, unlike last Saturday, but still threatened little in P's penalty area, mainly because the quality of our crosses, particularly from M-L was so poor. P looked poor but you felt they must improve second half and so they did.
Should Wildsmith have saved their first? Maybe but he sure saved a second from a deep curling cross. I reckon White was fouled and should have won a penalty but that ref was poor - so inconsistent. Barks should have scored with his header but really their goalie had little of significance to do.
I still think midfield is wrong. Smith must play in stead of Hourihane. H takes all dead ball kicks but does little else and those kicks usually produce nowt. Bird (excellent first half), Smith and Knight should be good with Rooney at RB.
But we must improve in the final third.
Couldnt do that every other week

Relax - enjoy Ipswich next week
Would have been nice to bring Knight on 2nd half.
Another team playing rope a dope. Let Derby punch themselves out in the first 45 minutes then step up in the second.
We have to score more when we are on top. Simple as that. Easy against the likes of Accrington and FGR but we can't do it against better sides.

First time on too
My ar$e feels like it was welded to that train seat.
Twas a good day today up until the second half
Further reflections - no-one played particularly badly but only Roberts and White played well for the whole game (Wildsmith not far off.) Didzie just does not seem the same away from home where he does not appear to relish being the number 9 (and anyway, was rarely in that sort of position). Collins, when on, never got on the end of anything but then again, nothing seemed to come his way, albeit in more of a 9 role. Our wingers, normally our main threat, seem to have been sussed by most oppos which is why, I feel, our goals for seem to have dried up.
I watched highlights of the U21s getting hammered by Stoke and there is no-one there who can step up, I fear.
So it is our small, un-age-varied squad which is now being found out.
I think we need to 'enjoy' the remaining games the best we can. The fixtures have clearly played their roll on this small squad plus the raw additions haven't quite offered the push required in the second half of the season.
This season we're clearly a 45 min team and then fade badly or start incredibly badly and improve after the break.
Our remaining fixtures don't provide me with the optimism that we'll necessarily remain in the play offs and if we do there's going to be at least two sides stronger than us in the play offs.
Time to enjoy our remaining Academy graduates and I do think it'll be time to bid Knight, Bird and probably Sibley farewell. We won't be able to splash the cash but I don't see the point in holding these kids back either.
Warne will certainly need to see how many of those from Rotherham out of contract he can attract who will be familiar with his requirements. Who he can also attract in the close season, given he missed out on McGoldrick, Hourihane and I think Chester (?) to a lower positioned ( but admittedly bigger) club.
We need to get uglier, add the experienced L1 players needed and find a solution to two positions that have proven our Achilles's heel , midfield and attack.
Additional thoughts:
This is a season the fans need to remain loyal to the club and not get on their back with the chorus of boos. We had something special last season with our support and we were applauded by fans of other clubs for the noise we created.
We have to continue creating that intensity which no doubt our team will feed off game by game. They're in a rut.
Paul Warne - hard not to like the fella given the initial doubts over his ability to manage a club of this stature. He's shown he can get a tune out of the players but it's a question of whether these players are equipped to play Rosenior ball or can adjust to Warne ball....over the course of a season.
Should we lose Knight, Bird and Sibley I would like to see a realistic amount come in for them approx 15 million + for the three. Should we lose them for the Derby County fees received from the past it'll just be another step in the old direction.
IF.....we can get one Polish international who'd thrive in this division and have L1 opposition players bounce off him, to play his final season with us it'd certainly offer us more defensive security in the middle of the park. Due to the costs involved it's unlikely we'll have Bielik but he'd certainly offer us something we desperately need.
Easier said than done but had we resolved the RB position, found the right balance in midfield and had a proper back up option to Collins we'd certainly be a good 3-4 wins better off.
I still think Collins can offer us something at this level, it's a case of playing to his strengths , getting his confidence up. Due to the 'blinder' McGoldrick has played at times Collins has gone from being our no 9 to a second fiddle striker. We all know our no 9 needs to feel loved and have that confidence oozing to be successful in any division and that's not happening for Collins.
In my opinion it's fair to say it's a 70 / 30 chance of playing L1 football next season. The one thing I'd really like to avoid is going to Sheff Weds needing a result to stay in the play off hunt because I know we won't handle the pressure and expectation. Hopefully our fate is sealed before then.
Similar match, England France Under-21s, France dominated the first half but lost 4-0 unbelievable.
Pretty all-emcompassing accounts there, Desi.
Personally, Im still a bit bewildered about what I watched yesterday. Might be the beer ?
PS I presume we are & will continue to have a £10k a week wage cap ? How relevant is that to our current & future positions ?

The triumph of hope over experience.
Would we in a better position had we kept Rosenoir? Personally I don't think it would have made much difference.
Given the players we signed were to play under Rosenior's style, they were onboard and joined the club due to him we should have kept him on until the end of the season.
Warne can be considered a coup given our situation and his pedigree at this level but we're just not set up for his style of play and we can clearly see that.
