When I said lout, i was talkiny about your angry throw the toys out of the pram attitude after we lose a game. Take it on the chin lad.

Ok about Poch. Someone in the crowd said a friend sent him a message highlighting when it started to go wrong for Poch. That message was the book Poch wrote "A brave new world" He wrote this book and after that the form started to dip.

The same effect as David O'Leary's book had at Leeds.

Meathead for life bro 💪🏼
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's very difficult to take stuff like that on the chin when I called the 2019 change in direction the wrong move from the start. I knew it was doomed to fail going for a trophy manager. We've had four years of this now with no end in sight. I wanted Conte out a long time ago and felt angry that we had to endure loss after loss and bad performance after bad performance before he was finally culled. That's why I threw my dummy out. It's hard to discover that a dawn is false long before everyone else does.

The Poch book thing holds no clout. The book's release coincided with a total lack of investment in the playing side for about 2 years. To put it down to the book and not the fact that Poch wasn't backed is just completely and utterly laughable. I wouldn't be surprised if that kid in the audience was a plant to ensure any blame apportioned lies firmly at Poch's door and not Levy's.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You weren’t ahead of the curve, Don was and has been for 20 years, those managers weren’t the problem - Levy/ENIC is - we are not run to win competitions
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Precisely mate.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You know it's possible that we can have a shiiiiit chairman AND the wrong manager at the same time, right?

It's so easy to lay it all at Levy's door but not everything is down to him. We didn't hear a peep from the Levy Out brigade whilst Poch was in charge. You know why? Because he had us challenging for the top trophies and we were all bloody happy. So that proves in and of itself that we can do better than we currently are with the right man in charge, regardless of Levy's frailties above.

It's just a joke to say 'no point' whilst ENIC are in control. What can we do about it? Nothing. We can't force them out and it's clear now that they have no intention of selling so what now? Do we just shut up shop and give up or do we try and make the best of it by getting in a manager that CAN work under the club's restrictions.

Calling out Levy as the ultimate problem as Don and Billy do so frequently is the biggest open goal tap-in in debating history. It's just so easy. So giving Don credit for that is just absurd. It's far harder to see a managerial appointment as a disaster from the beginning and I didn't believe in Jose from day one.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We often have the wrong manager because of Levy.

He got Poch right because even a broken clock is right twice a day - law of faaaacking averages and all that.

Then what did he do when Poch said “be brave” he sacked Poch - underlining why he is such a useless chairman now that he has built the club to where it is - he is not the man to take us forwards, he hd no idea.

However, of course he won’t walk away - he has built a cash cow that will make his family wealthy for many many generations - a dynasty.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He sacked Poch because he hadn't won an away game in months, and had Spurs sliding down the table. Add in the record home European defeat, and getting knocked out of the league cup by a 4th tier side, then any owner/chairman of any club would have done exactly the same. Poch getting the sack for a poor set of results us hardly a unique event in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The irony is that the very worst point under Poch was unquestionably still better than any of the 'peak' times over the last four years. That's in the data and it's undeniable. Whichever way you slice it, in that tail-off final year we finished 4th and got to a CL final.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet lost it because our gutless chairman didn’t provide the resources to win trophies. Never backed him properly and never gave him the tools to push forward, yet you still make excuses for Levywhat me, Billy etc have been saying for years is the fact our downfall will be spearheaded by Levy and we are now seeing how right that is.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Don, Levy gave Poch more money than any manager before or since he became chairman. Remember the Poch buys Ndombele, Lo Celso, Clarke, Janssen, Sanchez etc, etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------

How many of those were actually Poch buys Sandy?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All of them. Amusing how that old chestnut comes up.

Poch apparently only purchased the good players. Levy purchased all the bad ones.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So who bought Nkodou, N’jie, Sissoko?

Don’t you dare say Poch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Poch wanted Mane, he even came to the training ground and was keen to join, but Levy would not match the wages on offer at Varpool. Levy then signed Poch Sissoko for £30m on £35K a week less.

Manager asks for player A, manager gets player B or C. Always the way with Levy and has been his whole time here. Some of us caught onto it a long time ago.

Okay Billy, Don

It's clear you want Levy out but what's your plan to achieve that? ENIC own the club so we can't get rid so I'm wondering what the point of your mission is. Is it just a way of saying "there is no hope until Levy goes" or is there some masterplan to get rid of him? I don't get what it is you're trying to do.

posted on 20/4/23

The thing is, rather than wasting £20m on Clarke & Rodon, why not put that towards a top class player that the manager actually wants, pay a little extra to get the deal done and get a player who will improve your team.

Instead, Levy wastes money on cheaper punts and won`t pay the asking prices for proven quality. All the money he wastes chasing a good deal with potential room for their value to increase, would be better spent putting it towards real top class players.

Nothing we can do but express our frustration and hope one day it happens. I’m not watching us anymore this season anyway. I have zero interest and Levy has slowly made me feel less connected with the club. I hope we have some sort of direction next season, but I highly doubt it. It’s a road to nowhere with this regime and chairman. Can honestly see us doing another Everton.

This. It’s always players he feels he can possibly make a profit from. Why not 50 mil on a CB? Instead he gets Lenglet on loan when we desperately needed quality. Time and time again.

Sadly, there is no hope until ENIC sell up, these are the hard cold facts and the reason why many of us are desperate for them to go. This club is stuck in a cycle of mediocrity and a losers mentality. All we can do is make our displeasure known through protest, sitting there on ENIC`s roundabout going around in circles while winning nothing is pointless.

Sandy I think what you have to remember is you have seen Spurs win 14 trophies, you have seen great players come and go. You now get a lovely concession for being older than most peoples houses.

What’s Hezz seen Spurs win? The Audi cup

----------------------------------------------------------------------
91 FA cup I was too young.

2008 League cup

2004 Peace Cup

And the Audi Cup.

Truthfully ENIC do not have to go and neither does Levy - but Levy has to step away from the football side and concentrate solely on the commercial side of the club. Appoint someone to implement a footballing strategy on an agreed upon budget and then stay the faaaack away from it as much as humanly possible.

I’m talking right down to how players, manager and staff are remunerated, defining what success is for the club and having a long term philosophy and identity.

I don’t think I’m asking for much when I say I want the club to remunerate them players and manager to the same level whether they win the League cup or finish in the top 4. The new manager should be brought in with the express understanding that rotating in the cups in order to rest for the league games will not be tolerated - European group games (when we’re comfortable in the group) permitted.

I just look at Newcastle - before this year they had never been past the League cup QF - constantly rotated players to save them in order to stay in the league. First year of new owners and they make the cup final - why? Because the owners want to win, they aren’t running a business

Lol so let's hope that puts to bed Luis Enrique.

I read another article saying he was interested in someone called Will Stell. I have never heard of that guy before.

Thinling about it, we did have a few Spursy moments in the 1950s, lost two FA Cup semi finals, and got knocked out of the FA Cup by three third division clubs between 1955 and 1959, York, Bournemouth and Norwich.

Spurs were rarely Spursy before 1990s.

In fact, we used to win games that we were meant to win...There were fewer games we were meant to win, granted

But we did win them

Newcastle are just lucky that us, Chelsea and Liverpool have been atrocious this season otherwise they’d be fighting for a conference league place.

Next season will be different, can’t see them being so high up again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Maybe not, but Chelsea for all their spending are a complete mess, Spurs are four or five players short of competing right now, and Liverpool gave a decent attack, but need major work on their defence and midfield. I doubt any of them will be challenging next season. Although no two seasons are the same. So we shall see.
