He's been very good the last few games tbf. Him and Shaw haven't made me nervous once really.
Long may it last.
Amazing how much better a player can be when he’s properly managed and playing alongside someone who isn’t Harry Maguire.
He's definitely hitting a good bit of form. Just shows what a consistent run of games can do for a players form & confidence.
Thought Casemiro was also good yesterday. Seems to be coming back to his best after a stop start few months seemed to disrupted his rythem somewhat.

Sabitzer has really impressed me. Think he could be a really good signing for us for 15-20m.
He's basically what we were hoping Donny could have been.

He was. Would definitely keep in Summer if we can get at the right price. Very useful squad player!
If the choice was to keep one of Lindelof or Maguire, i'm sure the vote on here would be a landslide.
He's always been capable of such performances, but looks more assured under ETH and I feel like he has the manager's trust.
Move H-Slabz on and bring in another LCB and we are good to go.
I was dead against signing Sabitzer to a permanent deal until ETH started deploying him high up the pitch.
He’s been *very* average at six; his positioning isn’t great and he’s useless in the offensive transition.
His performances at eight/ten have been much more promising, though, and he could offer something different for us off the bench and maybe act as cover for Bruno.
I’d like to think that we could find a younger homegrown player to fill that role in the coming months. If not, he might not be a terrible option.
Very underrated player. Gets some unwarranted stick from a section of the fanbase.
Good cover but not a good partner for Maguire so often looks worse than he is.
He definitely deserves praise for recent performances but has also had some dreadful performances in the past where he’s looked weak in the challenge and easily bullied on set pieces
Hopefully he can keep the good work up till the end of the season because he’ll need to

Indeed. Loos like the JA 606 rewriting of history is in full swing.
He has played well the last couple of games for sure.
No one has said anything about him being some great player during his UTD career or that he hasn't had bad games for us. I didn;t think we needed to write the bleeding obvious.
thought he was awful against us last week
He's played well recently and that he been a bit of a bonus. The thing is though he, like a lot of our other players, are inconsistent. We need to see it over a much longer period IMO from all the players. Long may this form last though.

He wasn't awful in that game. The whole team just stopped playing second half. We were undone at fullback too.

Very true. Fred is the poster boy for inconsistency. And I put it down to him being in and out of the side, out more than in.
Lindelof has been good for the last 2.5 games. I.wont be getting carried away just yet.

I think having Shaw next to him gives him far more confidence.
Shaw is quick, he's strong as feck and he can actually play football, Maguire is the total opposite, well he's probs quite strong but he has the balance of an 89 year old on one leg, so that strength is useless.
As long as he's not next to maguire he's sound

It’s funny how being next to Maguire seems to turn decent footballers into crap ones. At least he’s our 5th choice CB now, hopefully he can be moved on in the summer.
There's an argument to be made that having a strong squad isn't all about getting really two top class options for all positions. It's more about getting players in the squad who can seamlessly slot in. SAF was a master at doing this even though you'd say some of the squad players weren't top class. They'd come in and know their jobs straight away. It's a balance really as really top players probably don't want to be thought of as a squad option for too long.
Lindelof on this form and selected for games that suit his style is more than adequate as an option IMO.
Let's not fall into the 'blame Maguire' for Lindelof's inadequacies of the past. He has played a couple of decent games. At one stage Maguire was good for us, you can't say that he's not generally been good in an England shirt, but it's obvious his confidence is shot to pieces. Maybe Lindelof is a back-up answer, but it seems to have been stumbled upon by ETH rather than a true belief. We will probably bring in a new CB and get rid of one or the other, depending on whether we can move them on their wages.
But a strong squad is about having a great starting 11 and then the right attitude of squad players who can come in and do a job. We seem to be lost between the 2.

Maguires had a handful of good games for United. Some decent and the majority ranging from poor to really really pathetic.
For England, we don't play teams that test us, so he's never really been tested has he?
The only half decent teams we play, we lose against.
Let’s hope he keeps it up
