The season has been unbelievably bad and Spursy.

Son has his best ever season then follows it up having his worst ever season - Spursy

Finish above Arsenal and they end up challenging for a title while we end up challenging for the Conference Cup - Spursy

Sack Conte then keep his assistant on who plays the same way only to sack him too and be left with the assistant's assistant - Spursy

Spend a fortune on new signings who are either not played, injured, or just don't contribute enough. Most successful signing is arguably the back up keeper on a free - Spursy

In the top 4 for most goals scored in the league but the bottom 5 for worst defences - Spursy

Go out to Sheff United in the FA Cup - Spursy

Lose twice to a struggling Liverpool who we've been above all season, and lose in the last minute when we score in the last minute to equalise - Spursy

Anything else?

Eric Dier being offered a new contract

At least by missing out on top 4 and maybe even Europe it might be the wake up call that Levy needs to seriously look at the defence being a problem.

My concern in sacking Conte was putting the ball back in Levy's court. His hiring record is terrible but in the end I am glad Conte left. I don't believe he was sacked.

After his op, it was inevitable he would go and once Bentancur was injured the season was over.

It is what it is and all the talk around Levy not being able to survive post Conte has amounted to a few chants only.

There is no value in looking back. Time to move forward and lets see how Levy fooks it up again lol.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There is value in looking back. That's the only way you learn from mistakes. If Levy doesn't look back on the last 4 years, he'll just repeat exactly the same mistakes and hire yet another misaligned, win-now manager. I've got a horrible, horrible feeling he's going to go for Luis Enrique because Nagelsmann will turn us down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He looked back on Jose and thought, what we need is Nuno, he has Spurs DNA - the bloke knows faaack all.

Why stop at the last 4 years? This has been going on for 20 years under Levy. Two decades worth of abject failure. He never learns a thing!

You have to be faaaaacking joking, you think the bloke who never had us lower than 5th is more to blame than Levy who let’s not forget hired Jose and Nuno prior to Conte.

Honestly, this is Sandy levels of dumb delusion
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Break down my answers then and explain why Conte isn't responsible for them. They're footballing issues. That's on the manager. Aside from the recruitment one, I fail to see why Levy is responsible for Son's form, Sheff United away, goals conceded, losing to Liverpool etc. Levy can impact many things, but to not hold Conte to account for most of these issues is frankly moronic. Sure, he hired Conte so the buck stops with him but he hired him on the basis that he was considered one of the world's best. It was the wrong fit, I get that, but talk about letting Conte off the hook. What is wrong with you? Still defending that cuuuuunt? Unbelievable. Just look at the trail of destruction he's left behind. It's not just at Spurs. He does that everywhere he goes.

Fridgeboy your hatred for Conte and love in for Poch is weird, one has been a serial winner at every club bar Spurs, one also won SFA with Spurs and not much with PSG.

Conte no doubt will go on to win further trophies, whilst I suspect Poch will be in and out of work for the rest of his career without winning a bean.

I seem to remember hearing at the time there was reluctance from Levy in hiring Nuno and he had to be persuaded by Paratici. I think I'm more glad Paratici is no longer around in our search for a new manager, a man who actively wants to seek out the defensive managers, while at least Levy was only going along with it.

You only have to look at the holes in the squad right now, to realise Levy has been making the same mistakes over and over and not learned a jot.

Ever since I have supported Spurs we have had a soft centre and we are right there right now AGAIN.

Weak GK and CB's.

As Chiellini once said "It's the history of Tottenham,"

Romero not so much a problem for me. I think he'd improve once we bring in better defenders. He's better than Dier who will always eventually let you down, and Sanchez is worse still than Dier.

We don't necessarily need £100m, we just need better recruitment and people that can find better defenders for lower amounts if needs be. It shouldn't be hard to find better than Sanchez for a start. The running theme with Spurs tends to be the ones that are cheaper being better than the more expensive signings.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s break it down:

Who hires the DOF picking the manager - Levy

Who ultimately sanctions the budget for players - Levy

Taking the above into account and knowing that Conte wanted Bastoni, Gvardiol or a similar level player, who is to blame for us ending up with an inferior player in Lenglet - Levy

Who chose Spence regardless of who the manager wanted - Levy

Who allowed Conte to have an operation during the season that could have waited until the summer meaning Stellini picked the side for Sheff U - Levy

Who hired a corrupt DOF - Levy

Who Spent 3 months looking for a manger with Spurs DNA and then chose Nuno - Levy

Who fired a wildly popular and relatively successful Poch to instead have Jose - Levy

Who is close to giving one of the worst defenders to ever play regularly for the club a new contract - Levy

Who let Stellini remain in charge after the Sheff U debacle - Levy

Who couldn’t count how many loans we made this season and ended up having to give Doherty away on a free plus £2.5m in a paid up contract - Levy

Who waited so long to sign Pedro Porro on the belief that the selling club would be desperate and lower their price only to discover his buy out clause ran out a few days earlier and he would instead cost more - Levy

I’ve kept it to the last 4 years - I could go much further back - has any other Prem club sacked a manager at half time?

Yeah, now compare the record of both those managers, AT SPURS. I don't care what happens at different clubs. It's irrelevant. I didn't even mention Poch here. You're the one obsessed.

If you're here to defend Conte, sorry Sandy, that just won't hold up anymore. It just increasingly exposes you as someone that hasn't actually got a clue about football. I can't believe after the trail of destruction hiring Jose and Conte, you're still wheeling out that 'serial winner' line. That worked well didn't it?!!!!

Forgive me if I don't listen to a word you say. You failed your audition. The last 4 years have proved that beyond doubt. Get back in your box so we can go back to building a project again.

Oh, by the way, what did you make of Kane saying that since Poch left we've lost a lot of our values? Seems odd doesn't it? Our greatest ever player of the Prem era kind of agreeing with me. How does that feel?

If Son's performance in Conte's first season is down to the manager then doesn't that then mean his alarming drop off is too? If that is the case then you can't pin Son's form on Levy, which proves my point. The whole point of that response was to prove that Levy is not responsible for everything. It's also down to the manager, coaching & recruitment staff and players. Pinning the loss against Liverpool was about both games, not just the one at Anfield. The counter attacking style which we're still playing, is entirely on Conte. That's his DNA so even if he's not there anymore, our approach is still the same.

Last summer Son started a fashion label and the 2nd year into his pension contract.

Sons form is down to Son - this doesn’t need debating. Son was top scorer last year along with Salah and both have been garbage this year - it happens.

We just have to wait until next year to see if it was a blip or if Son is finished - Son deserves another year

Additionally, only having garbage options in defence means you can end up with a defence conceding more than second bottom Everton.

Asking for Bastoni/Gvardiol and getting Lenglet and Spence is the Levy way

A humungous mess of Levy`s creation. The incompetence is staggering, we needed another top class CB but Levy wouldn`t spend to get one.

Remember that other £50m of the £150m raised through shares that went missing, that could have been used to buy a CB, but instead will be used for Go Karting and a hotel.

Just curious Billy - do you apportion any level of blame onto Conte for this or are you all in on Levy and that's it?

Any rational thought applied to this makes it clear that it's a combination of several things. Now, sure, you could say Levy hired Conte so ultimately the buck stops with him but I don't think it's fair to play that game. All football clubs, no matter how well they're run, can sometimes choose the wrong manager. It happens. I just can't understand why you wouldn't hold Conte and his team responsible for the abject football and the complete inability to improve a single player during his time with us. That's not on Levy.

I also don't think it's right to completely judge this squad based on the shattered confidence Conte has left behind. Let's see how these lads look under a more progressive coach. You never know, some of them might just shine.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We`ll never know what Conte could of achieved with proper backing, so we can`t apportion blame in his direction.

Had Conte been given the players he wanted, then he would be absolutely to blame, but you wouldn`t blame a top level mechanic when your car breaks down after he was given defective parts and the wrong tools to repair it with.

Wasn't Son really close that coach who died? I think it messed everyone up, including Conte. It's just been one of those seasons where it all went wrong.

Looking forward to the summer reset.

Yeah he was and Son is an emotional guy. Breaking his eye socket didn’t help either.

Need these 4 weeks to rocket past - it’s been a horrendous season

Even Klopp couldn't believe we played counter-attacking football with the talent we have. That says everything about the Conte era.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That comment was just a lame attempt from Norbert to help try and deflect away from the biased refereeing decisions that went his teams way, and the disgraceful way he acted on the touchline. Telling Mason to play better football when he has been there 2 games is ridiculous and tantamount to arrogance and bullying.

Speaking of Everton, that’s my big fear for Spurs post Kane - we fall back so far that we start sleep walking towards relegation battles.

Some might think I’m being OTT, and hopefully I am, but it wasn’t that long ago that Everton were always in and around the Euro spots and look at them now. Bad managerial appointments (tick) poor recruitment (treble tick) a despised chairman (tick) terrible run of injuries (not yet thank faaack)

This is a side that isn’t been relegated for 70 years and they are second bottom with 4 games to go - we have to learn from their errors
