If Son's performance in Conte's first season is down to the manager then doesn't that then mean his alarming drop off is too? If that is the case then you can't pin Son's form on Levy, which proves my point. The whole point of that response was to prove that Levy is not responsible for everything. It's also down to the manager, coaching & recruitment staff and players. Pinning the loss against Liverpool was about both games, not just the one at Anfield. The counter attacking style which we're still playing, is entirely on Conte. That's his DNA so even if he's not there anymore, our approach is still the same.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last summer Son started a fashion label and the 2nd year into his pension contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah I would rather blame the player for this one if there are off-field distractions affecting their game. Nobody gives Poch blame for Dele's performances sliding, for good reason too. He wanted to be a fashionista, like Son it seems.

Speaking of Everton, that’s my big fear for Spurs post Kane - we fall back so far that we start sleep walking towards relegation battles.
Some might think I’m being OTT, and hopefully I am, but it wasn’t that long ago that Everton were always in and around the Euro spots and look at them now. Bad managerial appointments (tick) poor recruitment (treble tick) a despised chairman (tick) terrible run of injuries (not yet thank faaack)
This is a side that isn’t been relegated for 70 years and they are second bottom with 4 games to go - we have to learn from their errors
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everton have not really done anything since the 1980s and 90s. Spurs are in a far better place, even as poor as the season has been. Everton haven't had regular Europe football like Spurs for donkeys years. No real comparison.
But Spurs obviously need to upgrade the entire defence especially at CBs.

My worry is I’m struggling to see how we’re going forwards at the moment. We need to recruit defensively over the summer but we don’t have a manager yet - so are we starting behind the curve of all the other sides.
People forget but Everton were top of the league in September 2 years ago. Newcastle we’re bottom at Xmas 2 years ago - things change fast in football

We need a good manager in first, one that you can back, then give him the right tools and some time.
Losing Kane may not actually be the worst thing going forward. He is by far our best player but it brings unwanted attention all the time; the idea of him staying or going each summer and trying to accommodate him with managers and keep him happy. It's hard to truly start afresh with that happening.
What we’ve seen since is woeful - capitulation at Newcastle, and then treacle puddle starts against United and Liverpool - 12 goals conceded in 3 games and 6 of those have been under Mason
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok take the newcastle game away because the italian influence was still at Spurs even tho COnte had gone.
We have improved when you look at it another way.
We had lost 4 on the bounce to united (2 of them under Conte). We scored 3 at Anfield, I cant remember the last time we did that.
And we have had two games without the italian influence and we may have lost one of the two but at least both of them were exciting and entertaining which is more than the games under Conte were this season.
COnte knew what he was doing when he had his outburst after the Southampton game. He looked at our fixtures and knew he would not win many more games so like a coward he made sure he got the sack.
Gutless boring italian fraud

Here’s how I look at it, we went from 5th when he left to 6th now and we’ve won 1 game without him despite playing the likes of Everton and Bournemouth and the one game we won was as lucky as it gets.
As for Mason and has it got better? No it hasn’t, why are we getting run over at the start of games - 2-0 down at home to United and 3-0 down to Liverpool after 15 mins. Then we’re supposed to be impressed that we fought back a little bit? Conte had us doing that all season, it was one of our fans biggest complaints - how badly we started games before turning up in the second half - accept Conte turned a lot of those games into wins - Bournemouth away, Leeds at Home, Everton at home.
I wasn’t entertained by either of the last 2 matches whatsoever - we were lucky United had already played 137 times this season including extra time and pens a few days before and that Liverpool are woeful this year.
Conte had had enough, took that rag tag to the champions league, asked for Bastoni/Gvardiol and instead got Lenglet and Spence - can’t blame the bloke and just like Jose I suspect he will again win another trophy at the next club he is at whilst we all sit here and wonder why Julian Nagelsmann can’t make it work at Tottenham - there will still be some posters telling me it’s not Levy’s fault, it’s the German fraud not playing Ben Davies as a number 10
