I was one of them and I must admit that I have changed my mind indeed. He's improved immensely under ETH and for me he's the best RB we have currently at the club.
Well done to him.
He's been better than Dalot post WC but I still feel we need better as 1st choice.
Dalot has gone backwards it feels.
I'd happily see us sell one of those if we were offered decent money.
I think he's worth another season to see if he can really nail down that spot. He's only 25 and has shown that he is capable, just needs to bring a touch more consistency.
Too many players in United's first eleven that shouldn't even be anywhere near the squad. AWB is one.
He's the best player I've ever seen on a 1 on 1 defensive situation.
Most other stuff else is pretty average.
Close to opposition's goal he is bordering on diabolical.
His crossing is shockingly bad.
You need better going forward to get the best out of Antony imo
We need someone who offers something both in defence and attack.
Dalot, imo, doesn’t offer anything better in either department.
I would be looking to offload Dalot if we are going to bring in someone else for the right hand side.
I'm old school and like defenders to defend first. AWB does that well. Has the odd brain fart but is dependable and reliable.

His crossing has improved to be fair ... Certainly not any worse than Sancho's. Not that we've ever seen Sancho cross a ball innit
Still not first choice material but happy to have him as second fiddle. Same with Dalot really though.
I think we'll get a new RB this summer, one of them will become second choice and the other will go. I think that'll be the one who fetches the bigger price, which will probably be AWB.
Also just read United are releasing Phil Jones on a free transfer this summer
ETH has done what good managers do; he’s improved him.
So much so he may well have resale value. If that’s the case, we should cash in.
Part of the reason he's so good in the tackle is that he never gets tight to anyone. It actually makes building attacks down our right hand side quite easy.
I remain unconvinced
We don't need a RB this Summer, unless a world class option becomes available at a reasonable price.
Cancelo might be available, but is he good enough defensively?
Agree with Winston. AWB is better than popular opinion stated at his lowest ebb. He's very good defending one vs one. He's technically limited but uses his long legs to make himself quite effective at wriggling out of a press. I'm glad that he has had the chance to display his best qualities in an improving ETH team.
But he does have recurrent defensive deficiencies, particularly in positioning and awareness. He doesn't have the technical and passing ability to be a net asset in building from the back, and he offers next to nothing in the final third.
In my opinion, Dalot at his best is vastly superior in build-up, superior (but not really good enough) in supporting the right winger, and superior in defensive respects other than individual duels.
Dalot is closer in profile to the kind of player I think ETH wants at right back, so I think it makes sense to replace AWB this summer with someone who can challenge and be reasonably expected to surpass Dalot.
AWB best utility is in one v ones again difficult wide players. Having someone who can come in and look after a difficult winger is a big asset, but the question is whether that skill set on its own is enough to warrant a squad over a more well rounded player - particularly one who can pass & help start moves from the back and/or offer more in the final third.
If we didn’t have Malacia, there’s a case for Dalot covering both FB positions, AWB covering RB and a new RB coming in.
Personally I always feel more secure when AWB is playing ahead of Dalot, however Dalot is probably closer to the type of player we want in that position long term. We do have the homegrown issue to contend with and I don’t know that Dalot qualifies, which might tip the scales in AWB’s favour if not.
I was probably one who thought AWB should go, but he has won me over. If he stays I won’t be unhappy about it!
I don’t know that Dalot qualifies

I believe not
I'd assume Dalot is on lower wages, which could be more sustainable if we're bringing in a new RB. Lower wages could mean easier to sell though, and I struggle to predict how much we could raise selling the two players respectively.

I reckon they fetch similar fees. Dalot had a period of being repeatedly linked to Barca several months back, which may have been nonsense, but I think we’d get a good fee for him. AWB might have less suitors but he’s still a very good RB & would be a good signing for virtually anyone outside of the top teams.
If he goes to an English team, the home-grown factor also boosts AWB's value (which may balance out how the player's higher salary expectations make it harder to sell him, to some extent).
He's doing really well, even some of his transitional play is decent.
I'd make him practise his play in the final third for an hour a day after training. Cross, cross, cross.
Pretty good 1 v 1 but u won't ever win a big trophy with a rb like him. I'm not saying replacing him should be a priority though as united have several other areas that need more drastic attention.

Perhaps not, but we certainly won't if we don't have a better CF and CM.
