Never know how things will go when there’s little to play for. Arsenal should be proud of their season. Don’t think finishing 2nd to City should be seen as any kind of failure and for a while it looked like they might hit the jackpot. And this weekend could have been really depressing for Wolves if Lopetegui hadn’t arrived in town.

I’ll watch the game just like any other Wolves game but will have one eye on the relegation fight. Wouldn’t rule out Bournemouth avoiding defeat at Goodson, which would open the door for a great escape for Leicester or Leeds, if they’re good enough

Sad that we no longer have gem on board. Gone but not forgotten

Yeah Arsenal should be extremely pleased with their season ultimately.

Hopefully we just go out and have some fun and play a bit more freely. Would be nice to see Jimenez get a cameo but it won't make up for last week now sadly.

Gem will be greatly missed. A real shame this season did nothing to lift his spirits toward the end but at least Wolves had a revival in recent times to enjoy.

If Gem's spirit was at the Villa match at Molineux a couple of weeks ago, I am certain it would have been lifted.

Gem was a real trouper
disappointed to be missing this one after so many live games this season , I would expect Arsenal will want to finish on a high in front of their fans and my bet with a West Ham friend as to who will finish above the other is in jeopardy

Still a bit of Premier League prize money to play for with Wolves. With one game to go we could still finish as high as 12th which would earn the club £19.8m or as low as 15th which is worth £13.2m. So Fosun will be expecting Lopetegui to try to get a result on Sunday to boost the coffers

Diego Costa hosting a farewell barbecue before bringing his short time with Wolves to an end. Not the player of old but still a great guy to have got on board, both on and off the field

Shame. I'd probably have given him another year. Good guy to have around and not a bad option if not first choice.

Guedes had surgery in March that caused him to miss a month of Benfica’s season. Now he evidently needs surgery again on his knee cartilages. Doesn’t help his resale value and I reckon Wolves will struggle to recoup half of what they paid for him

We dropped some huge clangers in the transfer market before Amiga's daughter became head of recruitment.

Amiga's daughter starts working in player recruitment and there are rumours of us struggling with FFP.

Interesting to note that since Lopetegui has been in charge, we are averaging 1.4 points per game. Take that over a 38 game season and we're still mid table on 53 points, not even close to a European spot.

Lopetegui will have to watch Sunday’s game from the stands after being given a one game ban from being on the touch line. He picked up his 4th yellow card in the Everton game for complaining about the amount of time added on at the end of the game and that’s enough to get a suspension

Absolute disgrace isn’t it

He took over a team bottom of the table and in his first few months at the club turned us into a team good enough to be in the top half of the league based on the average of 1.4 points per game. Just moderate further improvement would see us back challenging for Europe next season.

Not good enough for wolfie, football not sparkling enough for cinci, yet incredibly there are some that think he’s done well

There was one particular poster with very high expectations for this season, indeed last summer he predicted a push for Europe with no additions to the squad!

A mid table finish for a club of Wolves stature is a very good season in my opinion. We would do well to remember where we were just a few years ago.

For me #2, even without any new signings.

Leave me out of it, i am quite happy with our progress the last few months and excited for next season.

Yes but your previous comment had suggested you expected a higher standard of entertainment which to me is unrealistic given where we were at the start of 2023. But maybe I am in a minority with that view? Not saying we’ve been a joy to watch, but from where Lopetegui started from I had no expectations in that respect. Maybe others did

Nah that is fair. I didn't expect much given results were the only thing that mattered the last 20 games or so, it was always going to be a grind.

My point was that I didn't think Lopetegui did anything that would make him a hot property this summer to clubs of a higher standing than ours.

posted on 25/5/23

I think he would, but let’s hope we don’t find out either way anytime soon

posted on 25/5/23

He might be of interest to another mid table club like Spurs though?

Just looking at the team Grasshoppers are fielding in the Swiss league tonight. They still have lots of Wolves connections. Bolla at right back. Herc, Shabani and Hawabi in midfield, Dadashov up front and Magreitter on the bench

Seems extremely harsh to see us with twice as many red cards(6) as any other team this season and also more yellow cards than any other team.

Wouldn't even remotely consider us a dirty/rough team.

posted on 25/5/23

The red cards for Lemina and Nunes were totally unjust and the Nunes one was later overturned. Can’t really complain about the ones to Collins, Semedo, Jonny and Costa
