But give me a Liverpool treble over a City one any day of the week.

All true Dwight, and they should be punished.

Still, in football terms, Pep and the team are great, and their first goal was a thing of beauty.

I want us to be as good as them, fairly.

Whatever punishment they get, they should take it on the chin.

I really hope we win a treble asap.

Cities winning stuff means nothing tbf

Everyone knows it’s corrupt.

The thing is when City win trophies, nobody really cares. I would rather watch them cheat their way to trophies than see our historical rivals win them fairly tbh.

Absolute nonsense.

I walked down Wembley way yesterday with City fans and everyone was having a laugh with good friendly banter thrown in of course. I didn't see any trouble at all.

That wouldn't have happened with the scousers. There would have been a heavy Police divide for sure and plenty of aggro.

City winning is far from ideal but it's still miles better than Liverpool. Go and have a lie down in a dark room and think about what you said.

Aye and it's a stick to beat them with for the rest of their lives. Bit like Liverpools * title win

I get this, but doesn't it kinda render entire seasons completely pointless. I mean, most of you guys probably watch more football than I do... doesn't it feel like you're wasting your lives away, watching this charade?

One thing I will say, after this season just gone, my appreciation of what Liverpool achieved a couple of years back has gone through the roof.

Incredible achievement.

How City have acquired their money matters for the integrity of the game and how the game is run in future.

But as a United fan, it shouldn’t be a concern.

We have more than enough wealth to compete and our reasons for not being competitive are all our own fault, no one else’s.

It’s becoming a bit embarrassment that this is the main retort from some of our fans, every time City win another trophy.

Anyone who gets close to competing with the cheating machine will appreciate it more tbf. As if you ignore that they are hands down by FAR the best team the prem has ever seen.

Which is why people dismissing that Liverpool team as one of the best prem teams ever a bit silly. Because if City werent there it would probably be the best too. That said idk without city we'd have been pushed to those levels either, kind of pushed eachother to ridiculous levels.

I knew at the time how incredible that Liverpool team was and what an incredible achievement it was to push City all the way 3 seasons running, winning a title in the process. It was still extremely difficult to stomach, at the time I would have much preferred City to win all 3 of those titles (and also knock them out of the CL)

11 days to go before next season's fixtures are announced.

City are evens to get a home game to start the season, 19/3 to get one of the newly promoted teams.

Expect accusations of bribary if City don't start the season away at one of the Big 6.

I think that last part can't be overlooked. Klopp has done so well but ultimately he's made City a better team as a result of it.

I kind of get the point. There was a time in the mid naughties where I genuinely hated chelsea more than utd. I hated what they represented, how they had just bought their way to success. But with them there was the added factor of having so many easy people to hate, mourinho, terry, cole, drogba, robben. Also their football was turgid so they were buying their way to success whilst boring us all to fack.

With city, its a bit different in that although they are in a different stratosphere from the rest financially, they are a joy to watch and you cant help but be impressed by what they do and how they do it on the field.

I agree Winston.

United have pizzed enough money up the wall in the last 10 year to be a lot closer to City. Basically, because the owners have been clueless about how to run a really huge football club in England, from the USA , by letting others 'do it for them' who were even less clued up. Whilst City's owners have been smart about running a medium sized football club in England by letting people who are at the top of their game in football 'get on with it' over the same period.

Its been a complete waste of 10 years.

It just makes a mockery of our game that they came in gave out sponsorship deals that were BS, handed out ambassadorial roles to fudge pay packets, deliberately delayed investigations hoping for time statute barred outcomes.

That ship sailed a long time ago. The PL made a mockery of itself with its greed, this is just the evolution, reap what you sow, greedy caaants.

This point is the worst of it in that no matter how much free cash City have obtained and it’s origin it has been invested wisely while we have piissed an equal amount of self generated money straight out of the window with the pathetic way our club is run.

The favourite to buy our club is in reading today ready to let 6 of the Glazer parasites remain in his deal, which will still leave us with the debt, feels like Glazer Mk2 when we need a complete ownership restart with a clear structure and investment plan not more green and gold protests and a 70 yr old not reading the room.

There is a lot to question about how AbuDhabi have sportwashed the prem but their vision and mission to do it has been brilliantly executed.
