Exactly my thinking.
Tbf Liverpool finished ahead of City and we’re better than them not that long ago and they didn’t have any stand out midfielders, they were all great at the function they needed to perform to make the system work.
Hopefully whoever ETH wants (and I am hoping for 2 midfielders) help us in this regard, because currently we have too much of a difference in terms of the ‘style’ of play we can achieve when we have to make just 1 change in the middle.
Mount actually might be an astute signing, not at above 50-60m though. He’s good at pressing, has a goal threat, and energetic, might surprise a few and fit very well into ETH’s way of playing.
