What’s clear is that we’re not far behind the number one team in the world. With better tactics we would be closer still.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd say India are better than aussies. Also, you're playing at home, being a little bit worse than an aussie team who are out of form at home isn't really that impressive.
I think your series against India will be a far better barometer of where you are. I expect you to do pretty well if I'm honest.

If we do lose it will feel really bizarre because based on how both teams have played it feels like England have been the better side for most of the series.
Silly mistakes in the first two tests and rain saving the Aussies at OT.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Has the rain helped England today?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Time will tell, certainly break came at a good time for them.
The consistent theme is three of these test matches has been England having the foot on the throat of the Aussies and the Aussies somehow lifting the foot back up. Even yesterday, we looked naile on for a lead of between 425 and 450 but somehow we didn't get it.

The opposite has also been true, Aussies have let some good positions go to waste.

Might not rain at all tomorrow, what it has done is stopped aussies mid charge and give English bowlers a rest.
It's going to be difficult for England to win this. We needed Australia to be at least 3 down by now. We have to hope the weather is good tomorrow and we take at least 4 wickets in the morning session.
Australia winning series in England for the first time after 2001 under Waugh Invincibles. Bazball is dead. On serious note, selection of Anderson had more adverse impact than Bazball
I really hope rain doesn’t cost us a win. Maybe we should ask for a reserve day like the England did after OT 😅
Morning, very wet and bleak here in Bedfordshire.....
Currently the draw is 6.75. Might get on it now if the coming rain is gonna smash that down to something like 1.50
Looks like the rain is going to deny us another victory
Series would be 4-1 if it wasn't for the weather and Aussie cheating

Should have a reserve day regardless of who is ahead. Losing a test to rain is rubbish.

Deffo. Just such a waste of time having all that hard work undone by rain.
I'm a couple of miles from the oval. It's very grey and was pretty warm walking in this morning. You'd think ideal swinging conditions, but was similar yesterday and did fack all.
Unless we can get a quick 2 or 3 wickets the Aussies are going to win this.
Gonna be easy win for aussies if no rain
Reminds me of that test match in 2008 when India had a target of around 387 against England and I was thinking at the time England would defend this easily but India ended up comfortably chasing it and won by 6 wickets I think.
Rain or the Aussies will win this although I'm hoping for one last Broad hurrah!
