Maybe just add it to the long list of umpiring howlers this series. Today’s not just down to the ball change though … pitch is a day older, and overhead conditions are more favourable.

Smith wicket it key. Uncanny how often he manages to just get a bat/nick on a ball that looks about to do him lbw. Always looks a walking lbw to me, with his shuffling across his stumps and playing across the line. Unbelievable hand eye coordination though.

I can't tell you how much I hate that shot he plays - you know the one. Shuffles across, bunts it down to midwicket with a diagonal bat. It's absolutely infuriating. Any other bat misses or thick edges it to gully but he honestly looks like he has time to make himself a cup of tea before the ball reaches him. Facking weirdly talented waaanker

It's bizarre how ineffective he's been. Pace is where it's always been, he is finding some movement in this match at least... Something has changed but it's not obvious what
