I'm sure you're right Baz. TBF all of my flights have been in Europe, so I've not had to put up with what you describe.
So I have no solution I'm afraid.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There isn’t really a solution. Despite kind of agreeing with diafol, having kids and parents all show horned into one section sounds pretty brutal, I think we just have to take the rough with the smooth. To be fair the kids part is only a tiny fraction of the dislike I have towards the whole air travel experience, they are for me the least of the problem, it’s everything else that winds me up. Puts me right off flying.

I plan to stay child free and generally find kids I don't know to be annoying, but I'm happy to remind myself that I was an annoying little tuurd at some point and that's just what kids do.
I only really get annoyed if the parents are completely unengaged, never at the kids themselves
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remind myself of that when I get annoyed, I was exactly the same once. Kids can also be quite entertaining at times on flights, if you aren’t knackared. Especially in terminals when you’ve got nowt to do but kill time, they can be pretty funny with the antics they get up to

It's never the child's fault of course.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah sometimes I have to remind myself of that and that the parents are likely more stressed by it than I am
But when parents can seemingly tune out and just let their kids annoy the rest of the plane or whatever, that's when I get annoyed
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The main thing that gets me is when you get a dirty look when you happen to look at a crying baby. There's a loud noise so I am going to look that way. If the parents just acknowledged it in a looking for a bit of sympathy way then people would get along much better.
As Baz says above the whole thing is crap.

If it is bad for you Diafol, you can be sure it is worse for the parents.
We had twins and on short haul we’d buy one extra seat so we could at least put one down and get to the loo. It never failed to confuse the fck out the staff when their headcount was one short and we always had to be aware when they were doing it and alert them or the plane was delayed.
And if you think it’s hard wiping your @rse in a plane toilet try changing a nappy. More contortions than the Kama sutra.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
good effort Silver
Diafol, you never know someone else’s situation, as to why they are travelling, they could be in dire straits with no other option.
Yes, grandma, suck them eggs biiiitch.
Just go first class, then you get your own room (on emirates at least)
I'd rather sit close to a crying baby than a rotten farter or loudmouth adult.
I was dreading taking my kid on her first flight but she’s generally been great and been a quite a few now, we didn’t take her too early (largely because of Covid) and make sure she’s occupied with stuff to do. Tbh I don’t mind kids crying, what I find more annoying is kids who are behind you kicking the back of your seat and their parents doing nothing about it.
I used to deliberately take my babies on flights just to pizz of the other passengers...we never went anywhere, just the airport then a plane back
