What's the point in having a clause to buy a player for a set fee if the selling team can just say "actually naw" when an offer is made? That's just not honouring a contract. The only way it makes sense that he's not joining is if we didn't make an offer (unlikely), there was a buy-out fee for Bayern to cancel the clause (maybe), or Tillman himself has decided he doesn't want to join (entirely possible). If clubs can just ignore contract clauses when they don't like them anymore, no one would ever agree contracts because they're meaningless. That's the foundational argument of the categorical imperative.

It’s simply setting the fee payable should ALL parties agree to a transfer. That includes the selling club.

That makes it a pretty pointless clause then because it's not setting anything.

Looks like a good result on the Tilman front, given he might not have had much interest joining us with other interest. We could have bought and immediately sold on all the same though, as other clubs have.

There was always talk of Bayern having a buy back or buy out clause of our clause. Assuming this is linked to that.

Been reported that we get 1m, plus 10% of future fee (assuming that any fee would be 10m for Bayern to cancel clause). Reported by a very good source too. Also consistent with German reports that Bayern have cancelled clause and will sell elsewhere.

Unless you think that the reported interest is made up and Bayern would cancel the clause without interest from other clubs?

Strange to not believe very credible source here, which is also consistent with German reports.

Even at the outset, it was always reported Bayern had a buy back deal of some sort. I would assume this is it.

I think he’ll be sold for 10m given the reported interest in him and the fact Bayern have cancelled the clause. Not surprised by that interest myself, he was brilliant for us in what was his first pro season at age of twenty.
