Unbelievable money for Jota, business model is working well what a profit after 1 season, up to Haka to step up or BR gets a replacement

It's nowhere near 'unbelievable money for Jota '

It's about what you would expect and we lose our most creative and direct player we have

Today is a sad day

First Ange, now Jota. Good summer so far.

Worried Brendan will spunk all this dosh on EPL rejects.

This.

Totally understand, and agree with, our business model. Also can’t blame Jota if those salary figures are true. Do have legitimate concerns about BR in the transfer market though, which I wouldn’t have had if Ange had been handed a bigger transfer budget (not that he got them all right).

I'm hoping we have a transfer policy that highlights players and it isn't fully in the hands of the manager.

Mental we don't have a DoF yet (as far as I know)

Quite like Haksa, but that’s a big downgrade on Jota for me … just like Marco Tilio looks like a downgrade on Abada. Very early days, but pretty underwhelming so far TBH … club bank balance aside.

100% agree.

We should insist on £30m minimum for our best players with decent contracts.

That’s Aaron Mooy officially retired then, aged 32. All the best to the bloke for the future. Had a very decent spell with us after a sluggish start, to say the least. Was maybe reverting to that latterly, and knew he couldn’t continue physically. Played his part last season though, even though he never did crack the post-match interview bit.

So which Saudi club’s going to be paying daft money for another of our star men today?

25m for Jota is unreal.

He's not worth that imo so Celtic doing really well. I suppose for the fans it's about who Brent gets in to replace him.

Might end up a summer of upheaval if Ange has a player or two in his sights as well.

It will make no difference at the end of the season.

You're trying hard here but you'd love to sell anyone for that kind of money. Meanwhile you're building a team of championship rejects and guys who basically can't get games elsewhere.

A reshape is always expected when a new manager takes over. BR is likely to lose a few of Ange’s stars and needs to replace them, as he has said, with ‘quality’. He also needs to clear out the dead wood such as Barkas, Ajeti etc. New season, new look. 🍀👍

Of course, i've just said it's great money for a decent player.

You said all this same nonsense before Gerrard wiped the floor with your 8 3/4 in a row champs. Lets see what happens when the season gets going.

New old manager the fans have to pretend to want now they've got him.
A star player on the go.
Two nobodies signed from below Championship level.
A bin fire waiting for a spark.

Maybe not quite as rosy as your telling yourself

Rodgers needs to put his own stamp on the team and much will depend on who he gets in.

I would assume the next few signings should be better in quality than the last two which are admittedly squad punts.

Treble bagged, already the best squad and finances, CL money guaranteed, c£20m net incoming for Jota, several other big money saleable assets … aye, we’re in some nick, right enough.

If we can hang on to CCV, Kyogo, & Hatate this window I'll be happy. That's the spine of the team.

Btw......this year's Winter break will be the last. The Saudis are dictating when we have to play games and they have said you have to play through the January drudge......

The reshaped European completions next season means dates earmarked in January.

Not my point, Celtic are in a good position but imo have added Rodgers which could turn sour fast. The start of the season is very important for both teams, if we can get ahead it won't be a pleasant atmosphere around him.

Selling his best players won't help him and by selling decent players and attempting to replace them you're always running the risk of missing the target and making your team worse.

Taking a dig at Rangers signings when you've only signed two nobodies and a manager that was despised by a lot of your fans is a bit daft too

Fash, be honest would you trade positions? In the CL groups, better squad with all the trophies in the bag, very sellable assets, very tidy profits on players and business model working superbly, proven manager in place who has never lost a domestic trophy in Scotland, 10, 000 more in attendance per home game, merch deal in place with a giant Adidas not a Castore, squad of serial winners.

I'd rather be in the CL groups, those trophies would be nice in the cabinet but mean nothing for this season, sellable assets is good if you replace them well.

Can't argue about being a better run business.

I wouldn't want a manager that fooked us back though, those 10,000 are only there when you're winning.

Your adidas kit is a state Better make but our kits are much classier than yours this year.

It wasn't an hour of need - they had £50m in the bank, debt free, mind?
