Great signing if all goes through as planned.

Hopefully some of our bed wetting fans can take a few days off now.

Being concerned at the state of your club is never ‘bed wetting’. Maybe those ‘bed wettest’ that have protested so much have actually given the club the kick up the arris it needed

Everyone is entitled to support the club however they feel as long as it’s not offensive like racism or homophobia as some have demonstrated on here

‘Bed wetting’ is such a stupid thing to say to another fan of your club who happens to be more concerned than you

I know. Gets on my nerves too. 1 excellent signing and suddenly clowns pipe up like the countless mistakes prior to that are suddenly forgotten. I bet he waited all weekend to post that.

Absolute nonsense. I'm as concerned as the rest of you but you should hear yourself sometimes. You cry over stuff you read in the press and over stuff that hasn't even happened yet. When something actually happens, that you all said would never happen because the club us useless etc etc, it makes all that whining seem a bit silly.

We're starting a new era, let's just enjoy the ride and see what happens. I'm a proper fan, the plastics are all those who were throwing in the towel because things got a bit rubbish last season. We're far from being out of the woods, and Levy hasn't saved his reputation, but this seems like a solid start to the transfer window that you all said would NEVER happen.

If that upsets you, sorry!

Why would signing good players early upset any Spurs fan? If anything, everything we have moaned about with Spurs it seems like the club are finally listening. All that moaning from the fans has finally got it into the heads of the likes of Levy etc, who seem to finally understand what the club needs. Maddison doesn’t completely change that but it’s a step in the right direction. The fans have every right to moan and vent their frustrations. The club have been a mess for years. Hopefully the change and kick up the a** needed

I'm excited about the signing, although excitement will be diminished if we lose Kane. I want to see Maddison and Kane link up. It could be a beautiful thing.

Anyway, now let's sort out the Kane and the CB situations.

CB's need to be brick walls, and your CM's are going to have to be workers.

idea with the full backs moving in is the cm's move out to cover.

my concern with us in the champs league was that the fb's move in and the wings are exposed, and top teams always have rapid silky wingers.

long diagonals in behind, schitload of space, punished.

Lets see how it plays out.

I suspect there will be some slight adaptation in the PL...Celtic faced a bunch of bog average footballers most weeks so will have effectively been able to to attack attack attack constantly.

I would imagine that Ange, while being stuck to his attacking principles, is not so inflexible as to be so open against some of the best clubs in the world, and not only that, he will have some superb talent at his disposal that will enable some employ some subtle adaptation and flexibility.

bless you

it is incredibly difficult to play the free flowing football against a back 10 , which is what happens just about every week against celtic, and thats fine, teams entitled to go for the point.

we played Madrid, and he played the same way he always does.

I love Ange, i loved his philosophy, i loved the way we played because some of the football in spite of the packed penalty boxes was superb.

His game management is non existent.

You say that but Celtic in the UCL vs Real Madrid is a free hit, so of course he is going to play that way. 95% of the season is against low grade opposition so he is hardly going to develop a portfolio of tactical options to be deployed against top quality opposition when that occurs twice, may be 4 times a season, depending on your UCL group.

As said, Spurs will not be playing packed defences week in week out and will face far more threatening attacks than anything served up in the SPL. Celtic were top of the tree, even in the PL a bottom half team like Crystal Palace will cause big teams problems with their attacking quality. One tactic doesnt suit all so I would expect Ange to adapt and change small details with a slightly more horses for courses approach, out of necessity. If he doesnt, then he will soon learn he will have to. In the SPL, he didnt have to.

We dont just play in the league mate

Europe we put in some decent displays, but we never won this season. We had madrid on the ropes at celtic park but i said at half time that we missed our chance because ancelloti would sort it before they came out, and he did.

Ange will bring on 3 subs about 65 minutes. Doesnt matter if you're settled or just scored and have momentum, on the come.

Doesn't deviate from his vision, so don't expect a tactician, you dont have one.

Listen, there's a good reason why you got beaten in Europe, and why Real Madrid are able to tactically adjust at half time and go on to win and its because Celtic in the big scheme of things are a weak team in an even weaker league that doesnt even challenge them. A UCL Pot 4 team, where everyone in your group is ranked way higher.

Like i said, we'll see what happens but I am pretty sure that Ange is a bright bloke and appreciates that he will need some variations up his sleeve to be successful. Subtle changes, little tweaks here and there. Its all that's needed, in the same way as managers like Klopp barely deviate from their modus operandi.

Necessity is the mother of invention!

posted on 28/6/23

Yeah but u adjust how you play, for all his lack of tactical nouse Lennon knew to keep it narrow v barca.

Rodgers was a horror in europe, would setup the same way against psg as he would v thistle.

Ange will need time but if he gets you playing his way then you are in for a treat, just watch the wings...

Bore off Sandy.

Don, you are the biggest bed wetter on the Spurs board. Throw your toys out of the pram at every poor result. You Enic out, Levy out nonsense was embarrassing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Pin your grovelling letter to Levy Sandy. Nothing more embarrassing than that.

Great signing if all goes through as planned.

Hopefully some of our bed wetting fans can take a few days off now.

See this kind of comment really boils my p155

Not taking lectures off you Don, when you said you were done with Spurs, Levy and Enic, and are now trying to jump back on the bandwagon now that you can see Spurs are going in the right direction.
