Not yet sorry. They don't get all the scoops I'm afraid especially since this person may not be as interested in Dortmund as they were a month or so ago...

If ETH gets his No 1 transfer target for £55m, its a good deal, irrespective of his contract situation.

We SURELY have a CF lined up.

If we end up with Mount and no striker it’s bad business

If we end up with Mount and a striker it’s good business.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Totally dependent on the striker. Mount isn’t that good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He has been Chelsea's player of the season in 2 out of the 4 seasons he has played in the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just my opinion through watching him for England and Chelsea over the last two seasons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He struggled last season, but Chelsea were a mess all round and he was somewhat marginalised.

The season before that he was Chelsea's player of the season and managed a goal involvement every 130 minutes. Which is pretty good for a midfielder. He stats weren't as good the year before that, but he was again Chelsea's player of the season and played a key role in their CL success.

I don't think that he is an amazing player, but I do think that he will come in and surprise a few people. Partly because if his ability and partly because I am sure that ETH will know how to maximise his strengths and play him in the right role/system.

Have they said anything about returning Sancho for a refund?

Most concerning thing is the lack of any real links to top quality strikers.

Maybe waiting for the Qataris to rock up and stick a big offer in on their first day for Kane right at the end of the window!

Yeh, the more I think about the signing, the more it males sense.

And if you look at his career, he has played consistently well. Academy POTY at Chelsea, went on loan to Vitesse and was their POTY, went on loan to Derby and came second in their POTY. Had a solid start to his PL career with Chelsea in his first season, then won POTY in the following 2 seasons. There is only last year that he has struggled and Chelsea were just a mess all over.

We will likely have to sell some players in order for them to be able to do that.

Not for us it isn’t. Last player we signed in June was AWB apparently.

Mount in 50m, Fred out 20m plus performance related bonus, -20m.

Not a bad deal by our standards!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Except they play different positions. Maybe Ten Hag plans to change formation, move Bruno deeper and play 3 in midfield?

I'm not sure Mount and Casemiro work as a midfield pairing tbh.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mount himself says he's better as a #8. He can play next to Casemiro, no problem.

Will be interesting to see which Q-league sides will begin to show an interest in the likes of Maguire.

In my opinion the lack of any movement with the sale of the club is hampering what is going on in the market.

And player sales for us never seem to happen until the last few days of the window.

Fred ( I would rather see McT sold but we need him for home grown quota) and Maguire really should be gone by now.

We can't control when interested clubs bid.

The Maguire sale seems tricky to me: our old friend on too high wages relative to his worth, creating pressure for signing on fee and therefore driving his price down. Setting the price is not just a negotiation between two clubs, but also a negotiation with the player to see how much he will budge in order to get regular football. So you have three parties instead of two pushing to see what the others' limits are.

Yes, I suspect this is the case. Possibly also the reason for the messing about with De Gea's contract.
