In my opinion the lack of any movement with the sale of the club is hampering what is going on in the market.
--------------

Yes, I suspect this is the case. Possibly also the reason for the messing about with De Gea's contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We’re always very slow in the market regardless of the ownership saga.

Not a bad player but at the same time not one we necessarily need. Rice would have made more sense.

Isn't Maguire's trial up in a few months, will that hamper his ability to play for a period or not? If so maybe that is putting off any suitors (not that I can image there are many with his wages).

I think that is changing now Judge is no longer at the club. For example, if Chelsea had agreed the deal it would already be done.

We also are showing a willingness to walk away.

Would he? We already have a very good holding player. What we really need is someone to play between Cas and Bruno, who can attack and defend and also who is adept at pressing. Not to mention being capable of chipping in with a few goals to lighten to load on Bruno and Rashford. That isn't Rice for me, but it is Mount.

Yeh, we have moved pretty quickly on the Mount deal to be fair. Not much you can do if the seller is being unrealistic.

I agree with the 2nd half of that but we were terribly slow to get anything done last summer also.

Glad that we are willing to walk away from the deal.

I think Mount is more what we need from midfield if EtH wants to move to a 433 with 2 #8s. Mount might not be entertaining to watch but if his numbers are good and he enables us to create more while also offering support defensively with good energy levels then I can see why EtH wants him.

That could have been the case for years and just not been made public.

Don't forget, we so walked away from the Sancho deal the season before we got him.

And should have stayed away in hindsight.

I suspect Mount will be what I always thought VDB would be, not the most creative or prolific but will help to knit patterns of play together and chip in with goals/assists throughout the season. Better running with the ball though, and hopefully not as fckin frightened of actually being seen in the PL.

Finally get to see Pau Torres in the PL too, going to Villa. Another smart signing for Emery.

Good signing for them but I think it’s probably his level which is obviously no shame.

Mount’s been at his best for us when playing up front on the left or right. He has always struggled in midfield. He’s more likely a Sancho replacement then a Fred replacement.

70m bid for Goncalo Ramos in.

Judge was still at the club last summer until the window ended.

Fake Twitter ITKs.

Why do we need to put a bid in, doesn’t he have a release clause?

We're not buying Mount to replace the third-choice left winger / second-choice right winger (who isn't going to be sold anyway).

Indeed RR. We are not going to sell home grown players unless we get an idiotic fee for them.

Yeh the Benfica President has been mouthing off about how he believes we will pay the £69m release clause. Not seen anything about a bid going in though.

We will ‘watch him closely’ before bidding £65m which gets rejected and then Bayern pay the release clause.

And use him as backup to Kane
