Don't kill cash petition

I always get cash out for my local cafe because they have to pay fees on card charges.

And so they don't have to pay their taxes.

I never use cash but only because it suits me, no more coming home after a night out with a pocket full of slag thinking how am I going to get rid of all that, fingers stinking of copper etc etc

Only thing I would say is that with every electronic transaction your money diminishes ever so slightly - ie. we're all being charged to spend money. With cash a fiver is still a fiver, no matter how many people's hands it passes though. It is a bit of a con, but doesn't trouble me too much as an individual, losing pennies every day. But from a broader perspective it irritates me that people make a very good living from doing pretty much feck all.

Offset and more by the fact you can buy things cheaper without cash, online than you can using cash in a bricks and mortar location.

What do you need cash for?
*Closes your bank for not worshipping trans people*

This is being stamped out by regulations fortunately.

I cannot stand Nigel Farage but having his bank shut his accounts for being pro-Brexit is an incredibly dangerous precedent.

Please tell us you actually believe that to be true

Didn’t read the link, GB news

I can’t remember the last time I took money out of a cash machine.

Maybe for a haircut or a takeaway.

As long as there are a few cash machines around it’s all good.

I do have some sympathy for drug dealers, though.

One of my first jobs was in retail and we used to spend at least an hour after closing cashing up which was a mission. I envy retail workers like RDD and Peks these days who probably cash up in seconds with just a card machine.

I can't stand GB News or the people who watch it.

These are people who think the entire Covid pandemic was a hoax, designed to usher in a cashless society, or that a single cashless Aldi in Greenwich represents a digital prison.

I'd also be wary of taking Nigel Farage's side on any issue whatsoever.

Why does anybody still believe a word that comes out of Nigel Farage’s mouth? So gullible.

The Farage lie has been busted by the BBC tonight

I don't generally have a go at someone's physical appearance, but I'll make an exception for Farage.

I always think he looks like something H. P. Lovecraft might have dreamed up.

He's been spouting the same views for 30+ years and has been rejected from 9 banks.

Is it more likely all 9 have suddenly decided to get 'political' or is it that he's triggered something suggesting it would be unwise to take him on as a customer?

Only if you are an Amazon fan that sells stuff made in China....

For example, if you want to buy some local produce at a farmer's market it's cheaper to buy at the market then say in Sainsbury's or Amazon.
