Great business to date.
We’ve been lacking energy and creativity in midfield for a while,
Add Trent into the mix, we now have energy , creativity, and goals in midfield.
I'm a bit surprised no one from the big 6 has really made value for money transfers, except for maybe Liverpool and Newcastle.
It's no wonder City are so far ahead when opposition overpay often or on wrong positions. Are Mount, Rice, etc good or very good players? Yes, but maybe not for those amounts or I would rather they have spend that much on a striker first.
I believe Brighton have again made some very very good signings and wil solidify their top 6 claims and even close the gap to some teams above them.
Blows my mind that with a limited I'd get united just paid that fee and 300k wages for mount! Fernandez, casemiro and mount doesn't look very solid defensively. Could be a case of adding a better player to the mf but the balance makes it worse.
Struggling to offload the flops on huge wages could be a long season for united.
Spurs seem to have set their stall out so they are looking for players no one else wants, at a budget price.
VDV could end up here but again, far from the finished article and comes with no guarantees of even doing well. Keeping kane would probably be their best bit of business. Levy confuses me. As Brighton and villa look to push spurs out the top 6 he seems reluctant to spend any real money 🤔
Arsenal have improved but spent a colossal amount of cash. Signings need to work or surely ffp catches up with them after the last couple of years spending?
Chelsea....total.lottery. so many new signings in and old players leaving it's hard to say what will happen. Surely they have to do better than last season. Nkunku def improves their team though no doubt.
300k a week is incorrect, by most trusted reports it’s around 200k a week plus 50 in bonuses, a similar package to what he was offered at Chelsea to stay, and what Liverpool also offered.
Not sure how our midfield will work, so hard to say how he will do but it’s what the manager wanted.
Still need a striker and I think Onana if he comes will make a big difference to how we play and how compact we can be in the middle as the defence can play higher.
Liverpools 2 midfield signings look good but the line ups I keep seeing with the 2 of them plus Trent in midfield as a 3 just seems like it won’t work.

Even the top side of the estimates are 250k, with most papers reporting Mount on 200k a week, not sure where you got 300k a week and what you been smoking. Regarding your other comment I'm sure you know better than Ten Hag on how to build a midfield :D
Writing off last years form due to his injuries and Chelsea's capitulation, Mason achieved 13 goals / 11 assists in 21-22 and 9 goals 7 assists in 20-21 (not bad for a then 21 year old) in all comps winning the CL. These stats would make him our 3rd most productive player behind Rashy and Bruno.
Young, English, solid technical player that starts every game for Chelsea / England when available - the more you look into it the more you realise how good a signing this is, imagine one of our academy players with those stats going to a rival for that price it would be absolute meltdown on here.
Can tell the anti-united fans seething with the signing on here hence all the salty comments, but we definitely need a GK and Striker otherwise a better midfield is just papering over cracks.
I find the notion that we offered Mount 200k+50k a week a bit far fetched. We simply don't sign players who start on such high wages. We always want room for an improved contract. Mount would start on something like 150k for a 5 year deal then sign an improved deal after 3 years.
Also for context, here is the more expensive Havertz stats (who also plays further upfield):
20-21 4 goals 3 assists
21-22 8 goals 3 assists
22-23 7 goals 1 assists
Well done Arsenal you spent £65M on a forward thats never broke 10 goals in a season, and reportedly paying him 330k a week but yeah Mount is the bad signing.
In desperate need of a quality CF, a CB to cover Varane, and a GK if DDG doesnt renew. Not convinced with Onana if it is him.
I'd give our business a 3/10 so far

No way we would offer that for Mount.
He was shocking last season, I’m not even sure we were in for him at all.
Good balanced Post DJ
Either keeping Kane is key for us or “off load” to Bayern for £80M + this window and spend that money on 2 decent CBs. No Europe should bode us well.
Liverpool and Chelsea must improve this season surely?? Pool have bought well so far. Even though I rate Poch
I think it will be a transitional season for Chelsea while he sorts them out. But watch out the following season!
Arsenal have (potentially) spent huge money (£200M??) if Rice and Timber sign, which shows commitment from the board to back Arteta. Levy take note!! Gonna be interesting to see how you balance out CL and a push for the PL again this year.
I think Newcastle may fall away slightly with CL commitments. No idea about Utd tbf. And as for City??? Can’t see anyone but them for the PL again unless the 115 or so charges bites them in the ass and Pep leaves like he’s indicated!!
An interesting season coming up!!
Blows my mind that with a limited I'd get united just paid that fee and 300k wages for mount!

Well, as we have not done this your comment is as pointless as all of your United related comments.
I can only assume you have been given an almighty kicking by the girls at your school to make you this way.
One of the things I never get concerned about is what other teams do in the window.
Some of our muppets were getting all down in the dumps last summer because of what Chelsea were doing in the window.

DDG leaves United. Be a tough act to follow.
I can see Varpool going backwards, they have overspent on a lot of dross, they have plundered £250m in the last year on Nunez, Gapko, MacAllister & the Hungarian Mark Noble.
Woolwich have spent £200m already on squad players and not really improved their starting XI.
Newcastle have done decent business but their spending can`t go on much more due to FFP
Chelsea will be a farce under agent Poch.
Penited will tread water, they have no CF and their squad is over rated.
Spurs will be left with a short squad as per as is usual under Levy`s thrifty business model, should improve with no europe though.
It will be City`s title again, they have the best squad (which will be improved again) and the best manager, assuming they are not deducted points for financial doping.
Puzzled why Arsenal are spending so much when they could've sorted their striker issue with a large amount (£100m what they spent on Rice) to get to tempt someone like Vlahovic or Lauturo Martinez and then spend Kai money on a solid midfielder plenty at around £40-60 mark (what Havertz cost)
If you had a decent finisher to last year's Arsenal we would get more points/wins. Maybe this is stoo simplistic view.
I would say a balanced team what you need. Look at City. Proportionally good in every position. Not spend in one area well and have semi ok in naother areas, a bit like Spurs were last season/
It's easier when you have quality in place already like City I guess.
Utd just lost DDG...That is at least 10-15points to them.
CL has just got easier for the rest of us, thank you ETH

Man Utd literally had near the worst goalkeeper and strikers in the league last season which is why our goal difference was so bad despite our stats being identical to Man City. Man Utd ranked 1st for shots and Man City 3rd yet Man City scored 36 goals more. Our stats were similar to sides who scored over 100 league goals last season. That is why Ten Hag won so many league titles as his sides are extremely dominant. Our goal difference should really have been +50 and not +15.
De Gea has been one of the worst goalkeepers in whole of europe in last 6 years so virtually any keeper we get will be a upgrade.

Seething? 😂 60m for a kid that didn't get in the Chelsea team seems crazy when he has 1 year left and united have a very limited budget this summer. But I guess paying way over the odds is what United have done for years. And The Athletic states he is earning 200-250 a week. There is zero chance Liverpool offered him that. No chance. He would've been 2 or 3 lrd highest earner 😂 what are YOU smoking!
He seems exactly like Bruno and I've no idea why united think that's a priority. It's easy to call rival fans haters for laughing at united business but it's just seems so illogical and carries on every summer!
I'm had you think everyone is jealous of united paying mount more than anyone else would, and paying 60m to do so when he was free next summer. I'd be amazed if United were near top 4 next season, and if they sign that kid from Italy I'd say it's almost certain they don't.
