When money is unlimited it doesn’t matter I guess.
The ridiculous thing is they’re not even trying to offer lower wages. There’s no way you tell me Henderson wouldn’t accept half of this.
140k a week to 700k a week. Why not.
Didn't realise Milinkovic-Savic had moved there as well. Why can't we get in on this for our deadwood
Gerrard starts managing a team and a week later they're offering a Liverpool player insane wages and likely an inflated transfer fee that no other club would even consider spending

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don’t forget it’s really 70k to 700k - 10x once you do the tax free element - no brainer
Good luck to him, can probably earn in 2 years what he’s earned throughout his entire career so far
700k a week for Jordan Henderson.
Think of the good that money could do in the world.
Just like Gerrard
“I’m not moving to Saudi Arabia!
Saudis open cheque book
“This is an exciting project…”
On the down side he has to live in Saudi Arabia. Though he has been living in Liverpool so for the first time ever moving to Saudi is seen as a step up in terms of quality of life for women.

Not been to either but I've heard from so many people that Liverpool is at least a far nicer City than Manchester. Although top footballers don't need to live in either and apparently don't, instead living in Cheshire villages if they play for sides from those cities
It wouldn't be 700k, just the measily 560k for him (140k x4), but that's still f'n insane
Saudi Arabia have declared they have another 150 years of oil reserves.
Good luck competing with them.
People forget 700k a week for them Saudis is like a PL team paying someone 40k per week or something, they have silly money
There aren't many Champions League winning captains on the market tbf.
I wonder if the Arcadian leagues could change the prem and ECL into has-beens?
Can’t blame him. Most of the players going to Saudi are at the end of their careers. Except for maybe Reuben Neves. It’s when they start poaching players in their prime that it will get a bit more interesting. That will be a real challenge to the existing leagues.
I've admired Henderson for his explicit stance on football being a welcoming community for everyone, and proactively embracing fans from communities that traditionally have felt uncomfortable in stadiums. It's not my place to say he should turn down insane wealth but given that he's already financially set for life, if he were to accept the offer, I'd like to ask him his views on a system that punishes homosexual acts with death.

Manchester and Liverpool are both great cities, with vibrant cultural scenes and a civic pride often missing from London.
Henderson's words:
"I do believe when you see something that is clearly wrong and makes another human being feel excluded you should stand shoulder-to-shoulder with them. You also have a responsibility to educate yourself better around the challenges they experience.
That’s where my own position on homophobia in football is rooted. Before I’m a footballer, I’m a parent, a husband, a son, a brother and a friend to the people in my life who matter so much to me. The idea that any of them would feel excluded from playing or attending a football match, simply for being and identifying as who they are, blows my mind.
The idea they’d have to hide from it to be accepted? But that’s exactly how too many members of the LGBT+ community feel. We know this because they tell us. So we should listen, support them and work to make it better."

Not sure what this has to do with him moving to be honest.
Maybe it's all part of the plan. Saudi Arabia appear to be moving in the right direction in terms of woman's right and LGBT, albeit slowly.
Their tourism "welcomes" LGBT visitors apparently.
I guess just don't throw that in their face in public and you'll be fine.
They won't be able to sustain their current strict laws if they're bringing huge western names into country every other week.
Things will change. Have faith.
