Everyone has his/ her price for which they will cave in and do something against their morals/ beliefs. However there are some whose price cannot be matched. If you utterly, truly stand for something, there is no way you would cave in regardless of if you were offered the world or alternatively threatened with death.
At this point I believe all the top level players are being paid too much. It’s obscene at a time when so many people are struggling.
Salary cap, salary cap, salary cap. If they don’t like it, they can shove off and do something else. Plenty of semi-pros and amateurs out there that never had the opportunity to make it that have as much talent if not more that could take their place and show more passion and happily play for a fraction of these crazy wages.

A salary cap would just mean even more obscene transfer fees and money going to owners and shareholders rather than the people playing the game.
No easy fix although we could start with regulating the cost of watching football, the TV subscriptions in England are a disgrace right now

When's he 'heading off' there?
Given how outspoken he's been on certain issues it does seem a bit contradictory.
But he'll probably reconcile himself by thinking I'm going to take £50m out of that country and could probably do a fair bit of good with it. And by reconcile I mean spin.
No hate at all towards Hendo.
He came in for £20m as Gerrard’s understudy. Was mocked - “Horrenderson £20m ”
Won everything there is to win in club soccer for Liverpool and ends up as one of Liverpool’s most successful captains and of the premier leagues greatest ever midfielders.
If he wants to go off and secure his family’s future for generations he’s on of a few players that deserves it

I can understand any negativity, it's the counter to the praise and admiration he received for speaking out on issues that mean a huge amount to him.
I don't expect footballers to speak out on any issue. That's not their job, not their responsibility. I do however admire those willing to use their platform and voice to further causes or address issues which they care about.
In Henderson's case, his passion for the LGBTQ+ community was wonderful to see. Going to Saudi where same sez activity is criminalised up to and including capital punishment; well lets just say it's certainly a contradiction.
I get that money is tough to turn down. Would I do any different? I honestly have no idea. And I'll never have any idea because I'll never be offered that kind of money and, barring some outrageous good fortune, I'll never be worth an estimated £25m. As such I wouldn't be too critical of him, but I do understand why some are.
